Although the Governor has declared private gyms/fitness centers and pools may open to the public on May 26. The Perry Wellness Center and Natatorium are owned and operated by the Perry Local Schools. As such, we must follow the directives established by the Governor and State/Local Health Departments regarding the opening/closing of schools. Due to those directives, the Wellness Center and Natatorium will remain closed until further notice.
With the unofficial positive outcome of Bond Levy Issue 15, Perry Local School District has secured the funding to build four new elementary school buildings in addition to targeted renovations to Perry High School and the Career & Wellness Center. Should we receive the official passing of this levy on May 19th , the district will have secured a partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) to receive $80 million in state funding for this project. These dollars will be used to build a new Middle School and complete the renovations to Perry High School. We are appreciative of those who exercised their right to vote early for the levy in March and those who submitted absentee ballots given our current climate due to the coronavirus pandemic. It has not been an easy past few months for our country and our township. We have faced unprecedented obstacles, but have banded together to display what Perry Pride truly means through the strength and resiliency of our community. I would like to thank those who worked tirelessly to get out in the community and keep residents informed and educated about Issue 15. Their diligence and hard work speaking with residents and answering questions at night and on weekends is truly commendable. We will continue to update Perry Township residents throughout the planning stages of this project. Should you have questions about plan details, please visit the Bond Levy Issue 15 FAQ section on www.perrylocal.org.

Dear Perry Local Parents and Guardians,
This afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine made the decision to extend the closure of Ohio’s K-12 schools through Friday, May 1, 2020 as concerns continue to arise over the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We will support the Governor’s decision as the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff members remains our top priority. We recognize the enormity of this decision as it affects the lives of our families as well our district operations. Please continue to visit our website to receive information and important district updates: www.Perrylocal.org. We also know that remote learning, which we began today, will continue through April. Please make sure to visit our remote learning site www.bit.ly/remoteperry. We will continue to work with our families and caregivers during this challenging time. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. Remember, we are all in this together. Click here for the Spanish Version of this update.
