Zack “Attack” rolls as State Champion / Michael Balash

Perry High School Junior Zack “Attack” Dailey is the 140 pound Ohio State Wrestling Champion.  Zack was also recently announced as the Repository athlete of the week.  His key to success, “hard work”.  Whether it is the off-season, pre-season, regular season or the post-season, Zack attributes hard work with success.  As for winning the State Championship, Zack stated it was “pretty awesome.  I pinned two, won by three and then tech falled for the state championship.”

Zack knew he had the championship wrapped up when he looked at the scoreboard with nine seconds left in the final round and he was ahead 11-2.   After his hand was raised as State Champ, he ran and hugged Coach Henry, his workout partner, and then to his Dad in the stands.  Zack isn’t satisfied with one state title, he will be taking one week off and then back to training for next year.  “Working hard, tough competition and listening to the coaches” was his formula for this year.  Dailey placed 4th at state as a freshman and a knee injury knocked him out as a sophomore.

Congratulations on the state championship and we look forward to next season as Zack Attack defends his title.  Zack’s state title also helped the team to a state runner-up finish.  Other members placing for the team were: David Bavery, State Runner up -Tanner Lemon, 4th Place – Doug Mayse, 5th Place – Artem Timchenko, 5th Place – JoJo Tayse, 7th Place – Anthony Wise.
