Beginning Band and Choir at Pfeiffer Intermediate

imagesAll sixth-grade students at Pfeiffer Intermediate school are invited to join the band or choir or both for the 2016-2017 school year. Next week the sixth graders will have the opportunity to meet the choir directors to find out all about vocal music at Pfeiffer and also have the opportunity to try out all of the band instruments. If your child is interested in these great musical organizations please have them return the enrollment forms to their Academic Assist teachers no later than Wednesday,September 14th

There will be a Parent Information Meeting for Choir on Wednesday, September 7th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the Pfeiffer Choir Room. There will also be two Parent Information Meetings for Band on Tuesday, September 6th and Thursday, September 8th. Both meetings are from 7:00 – 8:00 PM and are held in the Pfeiffer Cafeteria. Representatives from local music stores will be at these meetings to give you information about renting or purchasing an instrument for sixth-grade band. Both meetings are identical so it is only necessary to attend one meeting. Joining a musical performing ensemble is a great way for students to challenge themselves and broaden their experiences in school. Not only do students learn to sing and perform instruments together they develop social skills and an understanding of the importance of the arts in our daily lives. All students can be in band and choir no matter which sports or other extra-curricular activities they already participate in or any activities they are looking into for the future. Being a part of the band and choir in 6th grade will ensure your student is ready to perform on Perry stages for years to come!
