There will be a meeting for parents/guardians of student-athletes entering grades 7-12 on Tuesday, May 29th, @ 6:00 PM inside Perry’s Mattachione Theatre. This meeting will provide important updates regarding OHSAA Regulations & By-Laws, Booster Clubs, Contest Travel Release forms, school day cancellation procedures, spectator/athlete expectations, and to explain general operations of the Athletic Department. You will also have the opportunity to register/update your student athlete’s information on Final Forms (our online Athletic Packet). Questions and concerns will be addressed at this meeting which will last approximately one hour.
This past summer Perry High School freshman golfer, Gunnar McCollins took his golf game to one of the most legendary PGA golf courses in the United States. In late July, Gunnar participated in the 2015 U.S Kids Golf Teen World Championship, which was played in Pinehurst, North Carolina at the world-renowned Pinehurst #9 golf course. During the three-day tournament, he shot 70, 72, 74 for an impressive even-par, which at the end of the tournament Gunnar finished sixth overall out of 146 participants. The Perry High School Athletic Department would like to Congratulate Gunnar on his great accomplishment and good luck for the upcoming Varsity Golf season!
1985 Perry Graduate Joe Tayse is battling Hodgkins’s lymphoma. There will be a spaghetti dinner to benefit Joe and his family on Friday, November 7th from 4:30-7:30pm at Richville Community Park. The Cost is $10.00. Joe has had an impact on a number of Perry students since his graduation having coached youth, middle school, and varsity levels in a variety of sports including football, wrestling, and track & field.
