2012 Kindergarten Registration

For students turning 5 by August 1, kindergarten registration will be held on Thursday, April 12 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at your neighborhood elementary school.

When you register your child, please be sure to bring his/her birth certificate, social security card, immunization record, proof of residency (e.g., voter registration card, lease agreement, mortgage statement, utility statement, bank statement, or rent receipt), and custody papers if applicable.

Perry Theatre opens 51st Season


Perry Theatre Director, “Louie” Mattachione has announced RUMPELSTILTSKIN as being this years Children’s Theatre annual production. Show date is set for Saturday, October 1st in the PHS MATTACHIONE THEATRE with a curtain time of 12:00 Noon. Tickets at $2.00 are available only at the door. Doors will open 45 minutes prior to show time. Audience members will have the opportunity to meet and greet the Perry Players Clown Troupe. (more…)

High School Guidance Office Announces AP Scholar Awards

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.  About 18 percent of the more than 1/8 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.
Three Perry High School students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.  These students are Daniel Krajci, Nicole Lanka, and Kevin McDougal. (more…)

Make-up Day Set for May 27

Dear Parents & Students:

Governor Kasich signed House Bill 36 on Wednesday, April 13, which increases the number of calamity (snow) days for this year from three to five. We have used a total of six calamity days this year, so we have one day that must be made up. Our goal is to make up this remaining day in a way that supports our students’ academic achievement with the least amount of impact on your family’s plans and schedules. Watson Elementary Raises over $4,500

Watson Elementary School became “Change Bandits” for the seventh year as part of 98.1 WKDD’s Have a Heart, Do Your Part Radiothon to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital. Watson students donated their piggy bank money, loose change and even some birthday money to help the kids in need. The whole school became miracle makers as each classroom tried to raise the most money. Mrs. Rochford’s Kindergarten class holds the title this year with $830 being donated by the twenty-three Kindergarteners. (more…)
