Math Camp Opportunity for Current Perry 4th Graders

Perry Local Schools is offering Spark Camp again this summer! This is a math camp for current Perry 4th grade students who will be entering 5th grade in the fall.  Spark Camp will give students enriching lessons taught by fifth grade math teacher, Kelsey Whitfield. Lessons will spark growth and longevity in math skills over the summer. These lessons cover the high-frequency standards that students will learn in fifth grade. Create a successful and fun start to your fifth grade year, meet new friends, learn your way around Pfeiffer and get a head start on fifth grade math!

2015 Football Season Tickets Information

helmet 1We are once again gearing up for an exciting football season.  Reserve your season tickets now for the 2015 Varsity Football season.  Sales go from now through Friday, May 15, 2015.  Pick-up will be June 1-11, 2015 (M-TH).  The cost is $42.00 per set (5 homes games + Massillon ticket).  By ordering season tickets, you are guaranteed your reserved seat(s) for the entire season.  At the time of pick-up, you will receive all of your tickets plus a season ticket holder membership card.  You will be able to keep your reserved seat assignment(s) from year-to-year, provided you purchase season tickets each year.  You may also purchase additional Massillon tickets at the time of pick-up at a cost of $8.00 per ticket.

KSU Stark Hosting Transition Planning Information For Prospective College Students

district9Kent State Stark, in collaboration with Walsh and Malone Universities, are hosting a Transition Planning Information session for students with IEPs or 504 Plans.  The event is FREE and open to anyone considering college, not just the three schools hosting the event.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 29th at 6:00 PM in the library conference room at Kent State Stark (map). Autism Awareness Month

Autism Awareness TShirt BLUEPerry Local Schools and the District Autism Team invite you to celebrate Autism Awareness Month with us by wearing blue on April 22nd.  We have designed a shirt that draws attention and is sure to ignite conversation and therefore awareness!  The t-shirts are royal blue with white print just like the image you see.  Shirts are $10 and come in sizes YS-AXXXL. Proceeds will support Team initiatives which target the educational needs and general well-being of students with disabilities.  ACT SOON!  Community orders must be postmarked by April 3rd in order assure your order is here in time.  Orders received after the 8th will be returned. No School February 19th and 20th

school closedPerry Local Schools will be closed Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th, due to extreme cold temperatures.  Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed.  All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. Y­Care is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.

High School Guidance Office Announces AP Scholar Awards



The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program (AP) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.  About 18 percent of the more than 1/8 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.
Three Perry High School students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.  These students are Daniel Krajci, Nicole Lanka, and Kevin McDougal. (more…)
