Panthers top Lake 151-169

The Perry Boy’s golf team won their Federal League match against Lake Tuesday night with a 151-169 score. The Panthers were led by Gunnar McCollins with a 3 under par 33. Also scoring for Perry were Jake Barth and Ryan Leininger with 38 and 39 respectively. Cory Gruber rounded out the scoring with a 41 to give the Panthers the victory.


The Panthers are now 7-4 in the Federal League and face the Green Bulldogs on Thursday to finish their season.     img_8934

Senior night was celebrated at Tuesday’s last home match of the season honoring varsity players Jake Barth and Danny Gardner.

Start County Boys Golf Championship

The Stark County Boys Golf Championship match was held at Sable Creek Golf Course on Saturday, September 24th. Our Perry Panthers  tied Glen Oak for 3rd with 323. Lake won with 313 and Jackson took second place shooting  316. Sophomore Gunnar McCollins medaled with 74. Way to go Panthers!


JV Team – Federal League Victory

Congratulations to Coach Whitaker and the Perry Junior Varsity Golf team in breaking the streak with the first JV Federal League victory in 4 years. The team beat North Canton Hoover 186-194. Sophomore Ben Turner led the team with a low score of 42. Way to go!

Varsity Golfers top Hoover 151-165


The Perry Boys Varsity Golf team notched another Federal League victory Wednesday with a 151-165 score versus North Canton Hoover. The Panthers were led by Sr. Jake Barth and Soph. Gunnar McCollins each shooting an even par 36 and Jr. Ryan Leininger following with a 1 over, 37. Jake Barth, Ryan Leininger, and Gunnar McCollins each birdied on hole #9, North course.

The Vikings were led by Emmitt Caskey with a 37. The Panthers  now have a record of 5-2 in the Federal League. Hoover is 2-5 in Federal League competition.

Perry Men’s Golf Booster Club Outing

PHS Men’s Golf Booster Club hosted their annual scramble on Sunday, September 11th at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course. With 31 teams and a 9:30 shotgun start, the day was great for all!

Perry sophomore Gunnar McCollins Medals in Kent

For the second year in a row, Gunnar McCollins is a medalist at Kent’s two day Pfeiffer Invitational, shooting 74 at Oak Knolls and 73 at Twin Lakes. Perry Men’s Golf team placed 3rd overall. Congrats to the team!

Perry Beats Hoover 154-157

The Perry Boys golf team coming off a tough loss on Tuesday to the Green Bulldogs 152-158, rebounded on Thursday to edge out the Hoover Vikings 154-157. The Panthers were led by Gunnar McCollins shooting a 36 and Jake Barth with a 37.  The final 2 scores came from Ryan Leininger with a 40 and Cory Gruber with a 41.  This brings the Panthers to a 4-2 Federal League record and a 5-2 overall record. Perry heads to Kent on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th for a 2-day tournament at the Pfeiffer Invitational.
