The Girls Cross Country Team continued their postseason success by finishing 7th at the Regional Championships to earn a trip to the State Meet this coming Saturday. Madelyn Bartolone placed 9th overall to lead the team and qualify individually to the State Meet for the second time. Andrea Hufstetler, Katie Williams, Melina Volpe, Hannah Groff, Elaine Bast and Laura Genetin rounded out the top seven. Great job and good luck to these young ladies at the State Championships!
The girls cross country Team followed up their Federal League win by capturing the District title this past weekend. Once again, Madelyn Bartolone lead the way finishing first in the race. The rest of the top 5 for the Lady Panthers were; Katie Williams 7th, Andrea Hufstetler 10th, Melina Volpe 17th and Elaine Bast 27th. The girls will compete in the Regional Championships this coming Saturday at Boardman HS.
The boys team finished 6th overall out of 19 teams to end their season as the top 5 teams moved on. The team was lead by Devin Halter in 22nd, Joey Fedor in 25th, Jason Lacourt in 30th, Eliott Kamerer in 34th, and Jacob Cronk in 45th.
The girls cross country team captured the Federal League Championship this past Saturday at Jackson. Madelyn Bartolone led the way winning the race by over 40 seconds and earned Runner of the Year honors for the second year in a row. The Lady Panthers then put three other girls in the top eight earning first team honors. They were Laura Genetin 4th; Andrea Hufstetler 7th and Katie Williams 8th. Grace Volpe rounded out the scoring finishing in 14th to earn second team status. Coach Jerry Marshall was also named Federal League Girls Coach of the Year.
The boys finished 5th. Jason Lacourt and Devin Halter lead the way with their 12th and 14th place finishes to earn 2nd Team All-Federal League. Joey Fedor finished 24th to earn Honorable Mention after fighting sickness all week. Eliott Kamerer and Jacob Cronk rounded out the scoring. In all, Lacourt, Halter, Everett Ewing, Abe Fleischaker, and Liam Morris ran personal bests.
The teams will race in the District Championships this Saturday at GlenOak high school with Regional Qualifying opportunities on the line.

Parking: Buses will drop of runners near the main entrance to JMMS and proceed to park at Sauder Elementary which is on the West side of the Football Stadium. Spectator parking will also be located on the West Side of the school where you park for football games. People will be able to cut through the football stadium to access the entrance onto the cross country course.

The girls placed 3rd out of 23 teams at the “Legends Meet” held at the Trumble County Fairgrounds this past Saturday. Madelyn Bartolone lead the way with a 5th place finish overall. Andrea Hufstetler, Katie Williams, Laura Genetin and Elaine Bast rounded out the top 5. The boys team finished 9th out of 34 teams. Joey Fedor lead the team with a 17th place finish overall on a hot afternoon running 16:40. He was followed in scoring by Jason Lacourt, Eliott Kamerer, Devin Halter, and Everett Ewing. The teams will compete in the Federal League Championships this Saturday at Jackson.
