Boys Finish 4th Lead By Halter’s Win – Shorthanded Girls Finish 9th Overall at Walsh Jesuit

IMG_1278The boys cross country team finished 4th out of 13 teams at the Walsh Jesuit Pat Ritchie invitational on Saturday.  Devin Halter secured his first invitational victory covering the 5000 meter course in a new personal best 16 minutes and 21 seconds.  Kyle Woods – 17th, Brandon Williams – 19th, Dominic Carosielli – 37th, and Justin Zapotoczny – 45th rounded out the top 5 in scoring.  The freshmen duo of Alex Hill and Cooper Reed also had outstanding varsity races with new personal bests.

The JV team finished 2nd overall thanks to some great races out of James Wayman – 5th, Spencer Huntsman – 7th, Spencer Wright – 9th, Simon Bast – 11th, and Grayson Hilderbrandt – 32nd. In all, the team posted 16 personal best performance on a great day to compete.

The girls team were missing some key runners and finished 9th out of 12 teams lead by Reilly Kreger – 23rd, Sheldyn Daugherty – 37th, Tori Robbins – 40th, Emily Beck – 69th, and Brooke Lieser – 72nd in scoring.

The teams will be in action as part of a huge competitive field of schools at the Boardman Spartan Invitational this Saturday.


Both Teams Finish 3rd Overall at Marlington – Girls Win Division 1 Scoring

This past weekend, the girls cross country team placed 3rd out of 19 teams and won the division 1 race score.  Leading the way was Hannah Groff with a 6th place finish followed by Reilly Kreger 23rd, Natalie Miller 39th, Sheldyn Daugherty 41st, and rounding out the top five was Tori Robbins 43rd.  For her efforts Hannah Groff was named Division 1 Canton Repository Stark County Runner of the Week.

The boys team finished 3rd overall at Marlington in field featuring 24 teams.  The team had many personal best performances and was lead by Devin Halter – 8th, Brandon Williams – 15th, Kyle Woods – 16th, Justin Zapotoczny – 22nd, and Dominic Carosielli – 26th in scoring.

The teams will be in action Saturday at Walsh Jesuit for the Pat Ritchie Invitational

Boys Finish Runner-Up at Sandusky Panther Run to Fun

IMG_20190825_003300The boys cross country team opened up their season with a runner-up finish at the Sandusky Panther Run to Fun Invitational on Saturday. The team pulled out the 2nd place finish with some excellent finishing kicks edging Sylvania Southview by 4 points. The team scorers were Devin Halter – 3rd, Brandon Williams – 12th, Nick Forchione – 24th, Kyle Woods – 25th, and Justin Zapotoczny – 32nd in the 266 person race. It was a great day overall for the team followed by some thrilling rides at Cedar Point.  The team will race again this Saturday at the Marlington Invitational.



Girls Finish 5th at Salem Early Bird Invitational

This past weekend the girls cross country team placed 5th at the Salem Early Bird Invitational. Hannah Groff lead the team with a 7th place overall finish. She was followed by Reilly Kreger with an 18th place finish. Sheldyn Daugherty 31st, Natalie Miller 33, and Tori Robbins 37th out of 155 participants.  The team will race this Saturday again at the Marlington Inviational.
