The boys cross country team finished 4th out of 13 teams at the Walsh Jesuit Pat Ritchie invitational on Saturday. Devin Halter secured his first invitational victory covering the 5000 meter course in a new personal best 16 minutes and 21 seconds. Kyle Woods – 17th, Brandon Williams – 19th, Dominic Carosielli – 37th, and Justin Zapotoczny – 45th rounded out the top 5 in scoring. The freshmen duo of Alex Hill and Cooper Reed also had outstanding varsity races with new personal bests.
The JV team finished 2nd overall thanks to some great races out of James Wayman – 5th, Spencer Huntsman – 7th, Spencer Wright – 9th, Simon Bast – 11th, and Grayson Hilderbrandt – 32nd. In all, the team posted 16 personal best performance on a great day to compete.
The girls team were missing some key runners and finished 9th out of 12 teams lead by Reilly Kreger – 23rd, Sheldyn Daugherty – 37th, Tori Robbins – 40th, Emily Beck – 69th, and Brooke Lieser – 72nd in scoring.
The teams will be in action as part of a huge competitive field of schools at the Boardman Spartan Invitational this Saturday.
