The Fearsome Pirate Frank, Nov. 22-23

The Edison Middle School Drama Club would like to invite to our production of “The Fearsome Pirate Frank,” Friday, November 22nd and Saturday, November 23rd at 7:00 pm. Our 43 member cast and crew have worked diligently over the past 8 weeks to put together this production and are looking forward to performing it for a live audience.  The show revolves around an actor named Frank who has made a career out of portraying a pirate on stage. Frank and his band of pirate actors are kidnapped by a REAL pirate also named Frank, and HER band of pirate shipmates.  Who will win out as the real Fearsome Pirate Frank?  This production checks all the boxes: comedy, drama, pirates, mermaids, and even zombies! Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door (no pre-sale).  Click here for a cast/crew list so you can see which students are involved.  Special thanks to former Drama Club members Cameron Beard and Daniel Shamp for their sound system expertise.

The Perry Local School District announced at the November Board of Education Meeting its plan for a bond issue on the March 17, 2020, ballot. The bond will address the district’s aging elementary, middle and high school buildings. The bond issue, if passed, will fund phase 1 of the project which will construct four new elementary schools.  This phase is part of the White Option (click here) for the Building Advisory Committee worked through as options.  Through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), Perry Local would receive an additional $80 million to construct a new middle school and to renovate Perry High School. This second phase would come at no additional cost to the community. The Perry Local School District decided to move forward with this new facilities plan because of its eligibility to receive state-contributed funds. The plan was based on recommendations from the Building Advisory Committee, which met 12 times to discuss the issue, as well as input from the community.
