Latest News for Edison Middle School
Thirty-five 7th & 8th-grade students participated in the Edison Middle School Geography Bee on Monday, November 23, 2015. After a preliminary round, ten finalists were chosen to compete in the Final Round: Josh Houck, Jack Betz, Austin Eshelman, Kara Hullihen, Sarah Miller, Kyle Sivits. Congratulations to our Championship Round Participants: Third place finisher Dominic Bartolone, Runner-up Jacob Messman and Champion Kail Boughman. Kail will be competing with hundreds from the state to qualify for the state level competition. Good luck!
Edison was recently selected as a Cool School by Fox 8. Eighth graders, Eilis McGee and Issac Abrego, visited the Fox 8 studio and were part of the morning show. They played the morning coffee quiz live with the news anchors. They did a great job! Thank you to all who voted! Click here to watch the footage that aired on Fox 8.
Edison Drama Club will be performing the play “Who’s Dying to be a Millionaire” on November 20th and 21st at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door (no presale). Edison Middle School is proud to announce students qualifying for the first-quarter honor roll and merit roll. To be listed on the honor roll, a student must have a 3.5 – 4.00 grade-point average. To be listed on the merit roll, a student mush have a 3.00 – 3.49 grade-point average. Congratulations to all students who earned this academic recognition.

Girl Scout Troop 61039 extends our thanks to everyone that has donated American Flags for us to retire for our Silver Award. We have over 160 flags at this point. We will continue to collect any American flag that needs to be respectfully retired until December 18. You may take those flags to the Edison Middle School office. We plan to hold the ceremony in May. Once we have a date and location we will let the community know. If you have any questions, please contact our troop leader, Tricia Scott at 330.479.8739. Edison Art I students recently competed in the Ohio Department of Education, Office of Pupil Transportation, School Bus Safety Poster Contest. We are proud to announce that we took home all three top places in the state in the middle school division! Caragan Burick received third place, Lauren Lieser won second place and Chandler Mullen was honored with first place and his art work will be sent along to the competition at the national level. Good luck to Chandler, and congratulations to all three students!
