Welcome Home, Mrs. Budd!

IMG_9976Even though it was a cold, rainy day in November, it felt warm and sunny at Edison Middle School as Mrs. Budd made an appearance in parade fashion. Edison’s students and staff lined the driveway of Edison to welcome Mrs. Budd home with signs, cheers, and tears.  The band played spirit songs and the victory bell rang as Mrs. Budd waved to her biggest supporters—the Edison Team.  It was a very special day!

Red Ribbon Week at Edison

IMG_9966Edison Jr. T.I. sponsored Red Ribbon Week this year from Oct. 27-31.  The slogan for the week was “Join the FIGHT Against Drugs” and was portrayed in a military style.  Jr. T.I. members decorated the school showcase, made announcements throughout the week, and wrote and recorded a drug awareness video to be shown to their classmates. All students were asked to participate in themed dress up days including pajama day (Don’t let drugs destroy your dreams), twin day (Don’t let drugs be your other half), camouflage day (Don’t let drugs hide the real you), retro day (Stay away from drugs, you can’t go back in time), and crazy hair/mismatch day (Mess up your clothes, not your life).  The events were capped off with a luau dance on November 7th titled “Drug Free Perrydise.” The Jr. T.I. members hoped to show their classmates that there are many ways to have fun that don’t involve alcohol or drugs.
