Edison’s Rube Goldberg Team Takes 1st Place
A huge congratulations goes out to this year’s Rube Goldberg team for taking 1st place in the Rube Goldberg Competition! The team competed at the Goodyear STEM day at Firestone High School. The team worked all year on their board game based Rube Goldberg machine. The machine, started by a phone call, included tires rolling down a track, dominoes falling off the desks that started a perfection game, a balloon inflated by baking soda and vinegar, and a solar powered laser reflected by mirrors. All these processes were used to light up a Goodyear blimp decal! The team won $2,500 for Mrs. Laskey’s Gateway classes and will take a trip to Goodyear to tour the facility! Great job to the following team members: Olivia Abraham, Libby Adams, Anthony Bartolone, Grace Brown, Dakota Dunaway, Abigail Findley, Kara Hill, Dominick Jenkins, Emma Knutty, Marcus Miller, Haeli Miller, Anthony Newsome, and Taylor Stanford. 7th graders stay tuned to find out how you can be part of this amazing team next year! Tryouts coming soon! Check out the video here!
