The Perry boys basketball program will be holding two skills camps June 12 – 15 at Perry High School. Boys entering grade 2-5 will attend Session 1 from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Session 2 will be for boys entering grades 6-8 and will run from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. The cost of the camp is $60 with checks payable to Perry Boys Basketball Booster Club. The Perry boys and girls tennis teams will sponsor a junior tennis camp for students entering grades 2-8 in 2017-2018. The tennis camp will be held June 5 – 8 at the Perry High School tennis courts. Camp for grades 2-4 will be from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM. Grades 5-8 will hold camp from 6:45 PM PM – 8:15 PM. The cost of the camp is $40 which includes six hours of instruction, a camp t-shirt, and a can of new tennis balls. Checks can be made payable to the Perry Adult Booster Club.
The Perry Girls basketball program will be holding skills camp June 5th through June 7th at Perry High School for girls entering 3rd through 9th grades in the 2017-2018 school year. The PHS Girls coaching staff and athletes will instruct campers on ball handling, passing, footwork, shooting, defense, post moves and much more. The cost of the camp is $50 per camper and $35 for each additional camper from the same family. Camp times, for grade levels, and registration information can be found on the link below. The PHS girls golf team will hold a youth skills camp from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Monday, June 5th through Wednesday, June 7th at the Legends Golf Course. The PHS coaching staff and current players will instruct participants on putting, chipping, swing mechanics, course etiquette and much more. The cost is $30 per camper. There will be a meeting for parents of student athletes entering grades 7-12 on Wednesday, May 31st, @ 6:00 PM inside Perry’s Mattachione Theatre to provide important updates regarding OHSAA Regulations & By-Laws, Booster Clubs, Contest Travel Release forms, school day cancellation procedures, spectator/athlete expectations, and to explain general operations of the Athletic Department. You will also have the opportunity to register/update your student athlete’s information on Final Forms (our online Athletic Packet). Questions and concerns will be addressed at this meeting which will last approximately one hour.
Affinity Medical Center is graciously again offering a complete physical that meets the requirements for participating in athletic sports and is good for one calendar year. If you would like to participate in a sport next year, we encourage you to take advantage of this offer! Affinity will provide the doctors who will come to Perry High School on Friday, June 9th , starting at 1:45 PM. The $10.00 fee is not due until Physical Day.
The Perry Aquatic Club (P.A.C.) will hold tryouts and registration for 2017 summer swim teams. Beginning Monday, April 10 through April 27, Perry Local Schools will be joining the rest of the Stark County Schools and participate in a Food Drive called “Hunger: The Bus Stops Here”. The letter linked below will explain how you can participate in this very important community service program.
Are you ready for Perry’s annual Hat Day? On Friday, March 24th, for only $1 you can wear your hat all day. This is a friendly competition district wide, to raise the most money. The school that raises the most money will be recognized and have a part in choosing where a third of the money goes. This event is sponsored by PHS Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Perry Athletic Hall of Fame.
