Veterans Day Ceremony 2018

PHSVetDay.001The Panther Battalion Corps of Cadets invites area veterans to a special Veterans Day ceremony at Perry High School. Perry Bands Concert at the Palace

Screen Shot 2018-10-31 at 10.53.02 AMTickets for the Perry Bands Palace Theater Holiday Concert will go on sale Monday, November 5. Tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased during band class. Tickets are limited to 6 per family. Any checks can be made payable to Perry Band Boosters.  Please do not wait until the last minute to purchase tickets as this concert WILL sell out and tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door!

7th Grade Volleyball Runner Up!

Edison runner up2The 7th Grade Black Volleyball Team had a great run in the Federal League Volleyball Tournament that was hosted at Perry High School.  First, the #10 seed Perry Black team defeated #7 seed Hoover Black.  Then they went went on to defeat #2 seed Jackson Purple and #3 seed Oakwood Green.  In the Championship Match, Perry Black took on #1 seed Hoover Orange.  The Panthers won the first set 25-22 but lost the next two sets 19-25 and 24-26.  The Panthers fought hard through the entire match and finished as the Federal League Runner Up.  Congratulations to the entire 7th Grade Black team on a great season and fantastic tournament run!

Edison Art Students Excel in Stark Speaks UP for Kindness Contest

EdisonkindnessEvery year, Stark Speaks UP for Kindness sponsors an art contest through their One Book, One Community Campaign.  This year, once again, Edison is proud to have student work selected as winners from over 600 entries! These students will have their art printed in 2019 calendars that will be distributed throughout the county.  Congratulations to Victoria Gonder. Kylie McIntire, Jillian Reddington, Emily Altimore!

 

October Artists of the Month

Edison lobby artCongratulations to our October Artists of the Month!  These students currently have artwork displayed in our office lobby: Emma Huwig, Shayla Turner, Kendyl Jackson, Lauren Lee, Marcus Miller, Emily Altimore, Laila Seery, Tyler Samuels, Alivia Koth, Layla Carpenter, Alexis Dean and Lilian Vazquez.

Perry vs McKinley Goodwill Donation Drive

Goodwill Drive copyThis week, we are in for a battle…on the gridiron and for Goodwill!  It’s Perry vs. McKinley in the Goodwill Drive to Victory.  The school that collects the most donations will win a $250 scholarship.  There is a donation trailer in the parking lot in between the football stadium and wellness center.  This trailer is open 7am-3pm Monday – Thursday and 7am to Noon on Friday.  Here’s a list of items that are not accepted.

Edison Character Award Recipients

star_PNG41463Teachers from each community select two to three students who have demonstrated outstanding character traits each month. Chosen students are recognized as role models in our school. Their pictures and awards are posted on a hall bulletin board and they are given a window sign to be displayed at home that shows they were selected as a Character Award winner.
