school closedPerry Local Schools will be closed, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, due to inclement weather.  Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed.  All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. Y­Care is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.

January Spothlight on Character

Teachers from each community select two to three students who have demonstrated outstanding character traits each month. Chosen students are recognized as role models in our school. Their picture and award are posted on a hall bulletin board, and they are given a window sign to be displayed at home that shows they (more…)

Passport to France Event

PHS will host our annual Passport to France Event for students in 5th-8th grade on Friday, February 26th!

5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders are invited to “travel” around Perry High School to learn French words, play games and do French crafts. We will also cook and eat French foods and learn French music!  (more…)

State Support Team 9 to Host Conference for Families & Educators of Children with Diverse Needs

district9The State Support Team Region 9 is pleased to present their 8th annual Conference for Families and Educators of Children with Diverse Needs on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the R.G. Drage Career Technical Center. The conference will focus on building blocks to promote success for children, families and educators.   Registration, refreshments, and networking begin at 7:45 AM. Perry Pride to be on Display at February 2nd Basketball Game

Main Logo PPerry pride will be on full display at the boys basketball game on Tuesday, February 2nd versus Coventry. Dave Riggs, a recent inductee into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, will be recognized between the first and second quarter of the varsity boys basketball game. The 2015 Division II State Runner-up Perry Panthers football team will be recognized at halftime. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in the main gym at Perry High School, or approximately one-half hour after the conclusion of the junior-varsity game.

Anyone wearing a Perry Spirit Shirt, as pictured in the flyer, will be admitted free to this special night. Fans who wear their spirit shirt to the girls basketball game on Wednesday, February 10th will also be admitted free. Click here for more information on how to order your Perry Spirit Shirt.


8th-Grade Band Members Honored by OMEA for State Honor Band

Edison Band Student Earns State Honor

IMG_9448Congratulations to Zoe Bowers for being selected to perform at The Ohio State Honor Band Festival to be held on Saturday, February 27th at The Ohio State University. Zoe was chosen from over 800 nominations across the state of Ohio and is being recognized for her hard work and dedication in our Edison band program.  She will have the opportunity to work with OSU professors, guest conductors, and other middle school students from across the state of Ohio, as well as perform in a concert featuring two 7th-grade and two 8th-grade honor bands. 2nd Grading Period Honor Roll & Merit Roll

honor_rollEdison Middle School is proud to announce students qualifying for the second-quarter honor roll and merit roll. To be listed on the honor roll, a student must have a 3.5 – 4.00 grade-point average. To be listed on the merit roll, a student mush have a 3.00 – 3.49 grade-point average. Congratulations to all students who earned this academic recognition.
