PHS will be hosting 9th Grade Orientation for current 8th-grade students and parents on Thursday, February 2nd at 6:00 pm. This meeting will provide information concerning 9th-grade courses, PHS options, and the registration process. All 8th graders who attend will receive registration materials that evening. Students who do not attend will receive registration materials in homeroom on Monday, February 6th.

Congratulations to the Power of the Pen District Team who competed at Mt. Union College on January 5th. Power of the Pen is an organization that emphasizes creative writing as a means of self-expression. Students involved participate in five weeks of mini-lessons and writing sessions. Each session begins with a “cold prompt,” and students must respond to this prompt with a complete story–plot, conflict, characters, theme–written in exactly 40 minutes. This is no easy task! (more…)

The deadline to register for the Accuplacer has been moved to January 21st to accommodate students who have not received their Stark State ID number. Students must have your Stark State ID number in order to register for the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer Test will be given at Perry High School to students in grades 6-8 on the following dates in the high school library: January 21st at 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. January 23rd, 25th, and 26th at 3:15 PM and January 29th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
Edison students and Pfeiffer sixth grade students planning to participate in the College Credit Plus program next year, have applied to Stark State and are planning to take the Accuplacer test please note the schedule below. Questions can be directed to your building’s counselor.
The Accuplacer Test will be given at Perry High School to students in grades 6-8 on the following dates in the high school library: January 21st at 9:00am – 1:00pm. January 23rd, 25th and 26th at 3:15pm and January 29th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Be on time and be sure to have your Stark State ID number with you.
