Edison students are invited to attend the Perry Theatre production of “HELLO! MY BABY” on Wednesday, March 22nd for FREE by turning in the Ticket Order Form sent home on January 31st. An accompanying parent, adult or another child can purchase tickets for $10 using the same form. Make checks payable to EDISON MIDDLE SCHOOL and return to the office by February 28th. The results are in from the biggest art competition of the year! The 2017 Northeast Central Ohio Scholastic Art Competition has been announced and Edison is very well-represented. There were 4,319 works of art entered and our students were among the only 473 chosen ones. Winning Honorable Mention awards for Drawing are Lilli Betz, Roman DeStefano, Deven Huwig, Gabrielle Marcinik, Joel Adams, Sophia Hough. (more…)
Teachers from each community select two to three students who have demonstrated outstanding character traits each month. Chosen students are recognized as role models in our school. Edison Middle School is proud to announce students qualifying for the second quarter honor roll and merit roll. To be listed on the honor roll, a student must have a 3.5 – 4.00 grade-point average. PHS will be hosting 9th Grade Orientation for current 8th-grade students and parents on Thursday, February 2nd at 6:00 pm. This meeting will provide information concerning 9th-grade courses, PHS options, and the registration process. All 8th graders who attend will receive registration materials that evening. Students who do not attend will receive registration materials in homeroom on Monday, February 6th.
Congratulations to the Power of the Pen District Team who competed at Mt. Union College on January 5th. Power of the Pen is an organization that emphasizes creative writing as a means of self-expression. Students involved participate in five weeks of mini-lessons and writing sessions. Each session begins with a “cold prompt,” and students must respond to this prompt with a complete story–plot, conflict, characters, theme–written in exactly 40 minutes. This is no easy task! (more…)
