Congratulations to the Power of the Pen District Team who competed at Mt. Union College on January 5th. Power of the Pen is an organization that emphasizes creative writing as a means of self-expression. Students involved participate in five weeks of mini-lessons and writing sessions. Each session begins with a “cold prompt,” and students must respond to this prompt with a complete story–plot, conflict, characters, theme–written in exactly 40 minutes. This is no easy task! (more…)

The deadline to register for the Accuplacer has been moved to January 21st to accommodate students who have not received their Stark State ID number. Students must have your Stark State ID number in order to register for the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer Test will be given at Perry High School to students in grades 6-8 on the following dates in the high school library: January 21st at 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. January 23rd, 25th, and 26th at 3:15 PM and January 29th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM.
Edison students and Pfeiffer sixth grade students planning to participate in the College Credit Plus program next year, have applied to Stark State and are planning to take the Accuplacer test please note the schedule below. Questions can be directed to your building’s counselor.

The Ohio Department of Education, Pupil Transportation Office, has just announced the state winners for their annual school bus safety poster contest. Edison students have won all three top places in the age group of grades 6-8! Third place went to Ana Clapper, Second to Morgan Monter, and First Prize went to Maddy Fox. Their work will be posted on the Ohio Department of Education’s website and Maddy’s will be sent on to represent our state in the national contest. Congratulations to all of these awesome Edison art students!
The College Credit Plus (CCP) Information Meeting and the College Fair will be held tonight at Perry High School. Eight colleges will be represented and will be available to speak to from 5:00-8:00 in the PHS cafeteria. The CCP informational meeting will be held in PHS AV200 and will start at 6:00 PM. All updated CCP information and forms will be shared at the meeting.
