Latest News for Edison Middle School
Ohio Youth Art Month is every year in March. All first semester Edison Art I students participated in this contest, having to choose if they wanted to enter either a flag or graphics design. Edison had a student win a state-level award in each category. Elena Stearns received a third place for her flag design and Kara Hill won third place for her graphic design. Both students and other state winners were recognized at a reception in downtown Columbus. Congratulations, to our winners! We are super proud of you!
Teachers from each community select two to three students who have demonstrated outstanding character traits each month. Chosen students are recognized as role models in our school. Their pictures and awards are posted on a hall bulletin board, and they are given a window sign to be displayed at home that shows they were selected as a Character Award winner. Click here to see why each student was selected this month. Congratulations to our recognized students, you should be proud! (more…)
The Perry Chess Club held its own tournament for the various school buildings. Edison’s 8th grader, Anthony Ceccanese, won the Edison division of the chess tournament. Coming in 2nd place was 7th grader, Jesse Warner, and 3rd place was 6th grader, Tyler Fahrni. Congratulations to all!
March 23rd is Hat Day, for $1 you can wear your hat ALL DAY LONG! This is a friendly competition between schools in our district to see which school can raise the most money. All money raised is split three ways: the school that raises the most money will get to choose a non-profit organization where a third of the money will be sent, a third goes to Business Professionals of America (BPA–Co-sponsors this event) and another third goes to Perry Athletic Hall of Fame (Co-sponsors of this event). Show your support by wearing your favorite hat on March 23rd!
