Are you ready for Perry’s annual Hat Day? On Friday, March 24th, for only $1 you can wear your hat all day. This is a friendly competition district wide, to raise the most money. The school that raises the most money will be recognized and have a part in choosing where a third of the money goes. This event is sponsored by PHS Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Perry Athletic Hall of Fame.
All schools in Perry Local will be in session on Wednesday, March 15th. This announcement is in response to an erroneous posting of closure on Channel 19 WOIO.
Edison will be accepting orders for yearbooks from March 13 – 24. Yearbooks are 88-pages, full color, and hardcover. The cost of the book is $30 cash or check made payable to Edison Middle School. Order forms are attached or can be picked up in the Edison information center. Please note that books are being sold on a pre-order basis this year. There is no guarantee of extra copies available after the sale. Books will be delivered to students in homeroom during the last week of May.
Edison Middle School recently elected 7th-grade representatives to student council. For two weeks in January, interested students campaigned; posters were displayed, flyers were distributed, and speeches were written. All students listened to the candidates’ speeches in their social studies classes. Then, on election day, eight students were elected by their peers. Congratulations go out to the following students: Timara Berry, Kassidea Briggs, Jordyn Finnicum, Aliyah Hayes, Lauren Hollinger, Brooke Kirkbride, Maxwell Lord-Fry, and Owen Tanzilli. These eight students join Edison’s 8th-grade representatives who were elected at the end of last school year.
Congratulations to the 7th grade Math Team who competed in the Stark County Math Tournament on Saturday, March 4, 2017. The team worked hard with many after school practices and we are so proud of their accomplishments. Edison took home many awards with 11 team members placing. Sauder Elementary and Lake Cable Elementary of Jackson Local Schools will be hosting the Internet Safety for Parents Program on Wednesday, March 8th from 6:30p – 8:30p. The program is free to attend and open to all. The program will take place at the Jackson High School Center for Performing Arts (map). Teachers from each community select two to three students who have demonstrated outstanding character traits each month. Chosen students are recognized as role models in our school. Their picture and award are posted on a hall bulletin board, and they are given a window sign to be displayed at home that shows they (more…)
Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for families to find time for a healthy breakfast. To encourage more families to take advantage of the healthy choices available with school breakfast, Perry Local schools will recognize National School Breakfast Week during March 6-10, 2017. (more…)
