The focus of the One2One program in the Perry Local Schools is to provide tools and resources for the 21st century learner. The Perry Local School District wants to educate students and parents on the policy regarding cell phone usage during school hours that will be in place for the 2018-2019 school year. This is a change in practice from previous years however, it is the District’s desire to create the most advantageous learning environment free from the distractions of personal devices. Edison yearbooks will be handed out in homeroom on Tuesday, May 29th. We have approximately 50 extra copies if anyone would like to purchase one for $30. Cash or checks made payable to Perry Local Schools.
The Perry boys and girls tennis teams will sponsor a Junior Tennis Camp for students entering grades 2-8 in 2018-2019. The tennis camp will be held June 4 – 7 at the Perry High School tennis courts. Camp for grades 2-4 will be from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. Grades 5-8 will hold camp from 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM. (more…)
The Edison 8th graders departed for Washington, DC at 6:30 this morning. They are expected to arrive in the city around 2:45 this afternoon and will enjoy three full days of sight seeing, learning, and fun! We are thankful to all who made this trip happen. A special thank you goes out to the Board of Education and Traveling Classrooms for stepping up to ensure that our students get the trip that they have planned and paid for. We are excited for the days ahead!
The Perry Girls basketball program will be holding skills camp June 4th through June 7th at the Perry Wellness Center for girls entering 2nd through 8th grades in the 2018-2019 school year. The PHS Girls coaching staff, athletes and Ashland Eagle Karlee Pireu will instruct campers on ball handling, passing, footwork, shooting, defense, post moves and much more. The cost of the camp is $65 per camper and $40 for each additional camper from the same family. Girls entering the 2nd – 5thgrade will be from 8:00am-10:00 am and girls entering 6th – 8th grade will be from 12:30pm-2:30 pm. Questions can be directed to Lauren Bausch at email@example.com.
There will be a meeting for parents/guardians of student-athletes entering grades 7-12 on Tuesday, May 29th, @ 6:00 PM inside Perry’s Mattachione Theatre. This meeting will provide important updates regarding OHSAA Regulations & By-Laws, Booster Clubs, Contest Travel Release forms, school day cancellation procedures, spectator/athlete expectations, and to explain general operations of the Athletic Department. You will also have the opportunity to register/update your student athlete’s information on Final Forms (our online Athletic Packet). Questions and concerns will be addressed at this meeting which will last approximately one hour.
