Students Donate to Daniel J. Patron Memorial Scholarship in Honor of Veterans’ Day

photoEdison Middle School is proud to announce an $1100 donation to the Daniel J. Patron Memorial Scholarship fund.  Students were able to purchase red, white, and blue chain links in Academic Assist (AA)  to commemorate Veterans’ Day. Congratulations to Mrs. Budd’s AA (pictured)  for raising the most money.

The scholarship was established in honor of the sacrifice of United States Marine Corps Sgt. Daniel J. Patron, a 2003 graduate of Perry High School. Danny gave his life in August of 2011 defending the freedom of others. He served with distinction, exemplifying courage and honor as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal specialist diffusing road-side bombs in Afghanistan.
