This Thursday (Dec. 1) evening our Perry football team is going back to Columbus to compete for a Division II State Championship. This exciting time presents some challenges as we look to accommodate the interest in supporting our young men, band, cheerleaders and the Perry community. With the game being held on a Thursday night there are additional logistics that make it difficult for everyone traveling. Ensuring everyone’s safety as they head back and forth to Columbus is of the utmost importance. Ultimately, it was decided that Perry Local Schools will be having a 2-hour early release on Thursday, December 1st and Perry Local Schools will not be in session on Friday, December 2nd. It is our hope this allows families to plan accordingly and assists in keeping everyone safe in their travels. Congratulations to all those associated with Perry football and to our community. Enjoy this moment again and let’s not take anything for granted. What an awesome reminder of the many great things happening in Perry Local Schools. Go Panthers!
Latest News for Genoa Elementary
Mrs. Berry is excited to announce the Panthers with Character for the first nine weeks at Genoa! A Panther with Character must exhibit the 6 pillars of character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship) on a regular basis.
These students enjoyed a special catered luncheon, received a special certificate, and each name will be entered into a drawing to win a free bicycle and helmet. KFC of Massillon will donate the bicycle and helmet. (more…)
The Perry High School Gymnastics team would love for you to join us on December 10th for a fun-filled day of gymnastics. Each child will have time to try all four events (floor, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault) and receive instruction on basic skills from the Perry gymnasts and coaches. Due to low turnout, the District Autism team has decided to postpone the Perry Supports Parents group scheduled to be held on November 16th. Stay tuned for updates.
We are very fortunate to have Mary Shuman as a Perry Local bus driver! She is a ray of sunshine each day as she rounds the corner when picking up and dropping off students at our school. Mary knows the importance of building a positive relationship with students and always goes above and beyond to help students in any way she can.
