HIGH EXPECTATIONS, EMPLOYMENT AND STUDENT SUCCESS

district9The District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, March 19th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). Dr. Cathy Hamilton will present on high expectations, employment and student success. Parents and educators are encouraged to attend the very informative presentation. Knapp Student has Artwork Featured on Billboard

20141206_164201This fall students in Mrs. Davis’ art club participated in the 2014 Kindness Art Contest. This contest was part of the Stark County Library’s selection of Wonder as its One Book, One Community initiative. Students were tasked with creating a  poster that illustrated a precept, or a rule, about how people should behave.  The focus was on kindness and how to treat others.  Kara Hill’s artwork was chosen as one of the grand prize winners out of over 275  submissions county wide!  Look for her artwork featured on the billboard near Lincon Way and Rhor. Congratulations Kara!

Employability: What Does it Take to Get a Job?

employability_log_webThe District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, January 15th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). The topic will be Employability: What does it take to get a job?  Information will be provided for both parents and educators. An outline of necessary skills students need when pursuing employment will also be provided. Participants will be provided with strategies and supports to identify essential life skills and vocational checklists for both teens and adults.

Joe Tayse Benefit Spaghetti Dinner – November 7th

spaghettiDinnerBenefitA benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for Joe Tayse and his family on Friday, November 7th from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Richville Community Park. Tickets to the event are $10. Joe Tayse is currently battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Joe is the father of two time state wrestling champion JoJo Tayse  and Marie Tayse, a member of the 2010 state champion softball team.

Benefit Dance for Sharon Budd – Saturday, November 15th

SHIRT ORDERA benefit dance for Sharon Budd and her family will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Massillon on Saturday, November 15th from 8 – 11 PM with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Jimmy and the Soul Blazers will perform. Other featured events include a 50/50 raffle, basket auction and a cash bar. Tickets are $20 with checks payable to Benefit for Sharon Budd. Late Registration for Wrestling Clinic Set for November 3rd

jojo Late registration for the Perry High School Wrestling Clinic will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2014 before the first clinical practice. Practice will be held from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the gymnasium at Perry High School. 

 A registration fee of $20.00 will be required for all participants. This fee will cover all awards, cost of the elementary tournament to be held at the conclusion of the clinic, and a Perry Wrestling t-shirt. Instructors include the Perry wrestling staff and the nationally ranked wrestling team. Click here for the registration form.
