Top Sellers Earn Limo Ride

knapplimoThese students got to attend the limo lunch ride to CiCi’s pizza for being the top sellers during our T.C. Knapp fundraiser.  The students were so happy to ride in the limo.  All of the students were so excited because they have never had the opportunity to ride in a limo.  They thought it was so cool.  One student said, ” When I get older I am going to buy a limo!”   What great memories for all of them.

Grandparents Day Scheduled for December 12th

Grandparents Day is scheduled for Thursday, December 12th at the times listed below for specific grade levels.

• First and second grades 9:30-10:45
• Third and fourth grades 1:30-2:45

The grandparents and their grandchild will be watching the third and fourth grade Christmas performance “Christmas Around the
World”. The students and staff are looking forward to this special event!

Please don’t forget to RSVP if your child is having a grandparent or someone special visit with them during our Grandparent’s Day celebration
for grades 1-4. Please note the times on the next page in which the grandparents will need to arrive at the school. We need to have 2 separate
times for our celebration because we do not have enough space in the gym to house all of our special guests. We will host the kindergarten Grandparents Day this coming spring.

Mrs. Boyd’s kindergarten class earned November’s Classroom of the Month and will enjoy games and ice cream in the gym.  Keep up the great work!

Make A Difference Week: December 9 – 13

makeawishDuring the week of December 9 – 13 Knapp Elementary will partner with the Make-A-Wish organization.  Make-A-Wish works to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions as a means of enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Throughout the week students can help by purchasing a Make-A-Wish STAR for $1.00 (to be hung in the school with their name on it) and/or donate a new toy or game for the Make-A-Wish toy closet.

Students are also encouraged to wear specific colors each day to show their support.  (See below)

Literacy Night & Book Fair a Big Success!

100_0239Recently the Knapp Title Team held their Fall Family Literacy Night. Stories were read by Knapp Staff and other volunteers and this was a fun night that focused on reading! The evening also included literacy games and activities for grades K-4, prizes, pizza, as well as the Book Fair! Thank you to all of those who attended! It was a fun night had by all! We look forward to seeing all of our Knappsters and their families at the upcoming Spring Family Math Night!

Perry Levy Renewed!

ThanksThe Perry Local School District would like to thank the Perry Township Voters for their faith in the mission and vision of Perry Local Schools.  Tuesday, November 5th, voters turned out to renew the Perry Local Schools levy.  Superintendent Marty Bowe says ”  We want to assure you that we will continue to be as frugal as possible with your tax dollars, while still providing our Perry kids the first class education they deserve.  Your support of our schools is what makes it possible to prepare our next generation for success, and to move the entire Perry community forward. Thank you!”

D.A.R.E. Skate Party – Friday, November 15th

dare_pictD.A.R.E. will sponsor a skate party on Friday, November 15th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the North Canton Skate Center. The cost to participate is $5.75 which includes skate/roller blade rental. Speed skates are $1.50 extra.  *New activities are laser tag, rock-wall, bumper cars, euro bungee, and 30 new video games. *Pricing for additional activities is $5.75 per activity or $20.00 for an unlimited bracelet.

Kindergarten Field Trip to Pumpkin Patch

IMG_20131031_124252_608Knapp’s Kindergarten classes went to Kingsway Pumpkin Patch in Hartville and had a BLAST! All of the kindergarten students went on a wagon ride to a field where they got to pick their own pumpkin and two gourds. They also enjoyed a puppet show that detailed the life cycle of a plant. What a fun day! Thank you to Miss Self for allowing us to go and have this great experience! Thank you, also, to all of our parents who attended either as a chaperon or met us there!
