Principal Self has been encouraging Knapp students to use their manners since the beginning of the school year. She reminds them during morning announcements each day and the staff reinforces the manners in the classrooms and throughout the school. Staff members who notice students displaying good manners reward them with a “manners ticket”. Tickets are placed in the “manners box” where names are drawn each nine weeks for a manners party!

It’s important to remind our students that when they are waiting at the bus stop, they should wait with someone and not be alone. As they are walking home from the bus stop, we encourage them to walk in groups so they are not alone. Students should never get into a car with someone they don’t know and they should always report any suspicious activity to an adult. We want to keep our students safe and are asking for your help in talking with your children about these important bus stop safety reminders.

Throughout the week they have been incorporating Dr. Seuss in math activities by counting fish and also working on their rhyming skills. They finished off the week by tasting green eggs and ham!
