Volley for the Cure – Tuesday, September 30th

VolleyForTheCurePerry High School’s girls volleyball team will be hosting Volley for the Cure on Tuesday, September 30th  as part of the Perry versus Lake volleyball game.  Events for the evening kick-off at 3:45 PM with a Perry Police versus Perry Firefighters volleyball match. Parent Teacher Conferences – October 7th, 9th, & 13th

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 7th and Thursday, October 9th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM each night. Conferences will also be held on Monday, October 13th from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  There will be no school for students on Monday, October 13th.

Conference letters were sent home last week with students. Please return letters with preferences, or call the school at 330-484-3924

 

Number Bonds in First Grade

IMG_0035Mrs. Deuble’s class has been working on numbers bonds.  Number bonds mean two parts equal a whole number.  We have been excited to find out that some math problems even have more than one right answer!  During panther time we have been playing a number bond board game with a buddy.  We even have a chance to earn a starburst treat from the teacher if we land on that space on the game board!

Mrs. Alm’s 2nd Graders as Super Heros

lohrpictMrs. Alm’s class wrote about themselves as a super hero.  Addison Kreger wrote about herself as Bat Woman and drew a picture of herself as the super hero.  All of the students’ work will be on display for parents to view during fall conferences in October.

First Graders Remember September 11th

photo 5The Lohr 1st grade class, taught by Mrs. Shell, remembered September 11th with Patriotic ribbons.   They also gave a hand in making an American Flag for all our American heroes that help protect us every day.

Meet the Author Night – Matt Patron

Screen Shot 2014-09-17 at 9.11.08 AMCome hear author, Matt Patron, on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm at Lohr Elementary School, as he shares how he wrote, I Love You, Dan, Good Night, a book remembering his brother, Sgt. Dan Patron who was killed in Afghanistan. The first 35 Lohr families will receive a free copy of our featured book.  Matt will be available to visit with the kids after the program and sign autographs.  Additional books and DVDs will be available for purchase.

Brain and Body Builders

Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 10.11.03 AMAlmost one hundred Lohr Elementary students are participating in our after school program for our 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders.  This program will include a special character building story and after-school snack.  Then, the kids will go to an activity (basketball, cheerleading, dance, ultimate frisbee or walking club) that they have chosen.  Students will stay after school and can be picked up at 4:30 pm.  Dates:  September 15, 22, 29 (or swimming for 4th grade, if applicable),October 6th and 20th.  Click here download the application and more information.

Perry Girls Youth Fall Basketball League Registration

PERRY BBALL2Perry Girls Youth Basketball  is now accepting registration for girls in grades 3-6 for the upcoming fall basketball league. The league begins on October 7th and runs through November 16th. Girls will participate in a two week skills camp and a four week practice and game schedule. Practices will be held two nights a week with officiated games on Sundays. A parent meeting will be held on September 30th at 7:00 PM in the cafeteria at Pfeiffer.
