Join your Perry friends and classmates for a D.A.R.E. sponsored skate party on Friday, January 15th at the North Canton Skate Center (map) from 10 AM – 1 PM. The cost to participate is $6 which includes skate/rollerblade rental. Speed skates are $1.50 extra. Additional activities are laser tag, rock wall, bumper cars, euro bungee, and 30 new video games. Perry High School Youth “Pink OUT” Basketball Cheer Clinic will be Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 10 am – 3 pm at Edison Middle School. Youth girls will cheer with our Perry cheerleaders, Friday, February 12, 2016, against Green. This game will be our fourth annual basketball “PINK OUT” game. Please sign up and reserve a spot quickly for your future Perry cheerleader! The cost for the clinic is $40 per child and includes a shirt to wear the night of the game. The District 9 State Support Team will be holding two presentations to help promote family engagement with schools. The first presentation, Parent/Professional Communication is on Tuesday, January 26th. The second opportunity, Is Your Child a Target of Bullying?, will take place on Thursday, February 25th. On the eve of playing in their first ever state finals for football, the Perry community is ramping up the excitement with a community-wide pep rally to be held Thursday, December 3rd at 6 PM. The rally will take place in the main gym at Perry High School. Join us as we wish good luck to our football team as they travel down to Columbus to play in the D2 State Championship game against Cincinnati LaSalle Friday night. Doors will open at 5 PM and the pep rally will start at 6 PM. The football stadium will be open with the lights on beforehand to take pictures or toss a football around. Once inside, there will be face painting, the band and cheerleaders will be present, game tickets and shirts will be available for purchase, and 2,000 free rally towels will be given away. WHBC radio personality Kenny Roda will be the pep rally host. Players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs after the pep rally.
Wendy’s in Perry Township (5017 West Tuscarawas Street) is sponsoring a community fundraiser event from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 9th, with proceeds going to the Sharon Budd family. The event is a Star Wars themed event with a bake sale, gift basket raffle and free pictures with Star Wars characters. Come in and grab a great meal for a great cause. This coming Friday, the Perry Panthers will travel to Columbus to compete for a Division II State Football Championship. This exciting time does present some challenges as we look to accommodate the interest in supporting our young men and the Perry community. Ultimately it was decided that Perry Local Schools will close on Friday, December 4th. Also, there will be a community-wide pep rally on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM in the Perry High School gymnasium.

Holiday greetings to you all! Our 6th annual Polar Express-themed concert–titled “Believe”–is quickly approaching. On Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m., join us for an evening of seasonal music. The program will feature our six choirs, a live pit orchestra, PHS Rockettes, elves, cookies, hot chocolate dancers, The Polar Express read by Louie Mattachione, and even a special guest or two. Children are our guests on this trip to the North Pole, and they’re welcome to come dressed in their pajamas; after the concert, we invite all our guests to join us in the “dining car” for treats and a special gift for the kids. It’s a fun evening that’s becoming a Perry tradition–so don’t miss out!
