Perry Food Drive nets over 11,000 items

Thanks to everyone for the great support of the Perry High School food drive.  We provided for 50 families, 10 food banks (including Perry Helping Perry), estimating 11,000 canned and packaged items delivered.  Thanks for your generosity and giving during this time of year.

Panther Alum Wins Volleyball National Championship

Congratulations to Wittenberg Freshman and Perry’s own Meghan Vodopich (Class of 2011) for winning the 2011 Division III National Championship in Volleyball.  Meghan served the match-winning point and also had one of her 20 assists on the final decisive point to secure the victory!  Way to go Meghan, and way to make Perry Proud!

Lady Panthers Sign National Letters of Intent

Perry High School had three varsity athletes sign National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Macy Byrd signed with Tiffin University to play basketball. Jayla Saibene signed with The Ohio State University for softball. Shelby Tilton signed with Kent State Unviersity for softball as well.

Congratulations to Macy, Jayla, and Shelby as they continue to make Perry Proud!

2nd Annual Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, November 19

Edison will be hosting the 2nd annual Pancake breakfast on Saturday, November 19th from 8:00am-10:00am.  We invite all of our students and families to come and join us for pancakes and other breakfast treats. Come and see your teachers cook for you! The breakfast is free, but donations are welcome.  We look forward to seeing you!

Qualified Substitute Bus Drivers Wanted

The Perry Local School District is seeking qualified substitute bus drivers. If interested, please contact Mitzi Wagner, Transportation Supervisor, at the Perry bus garage 330-477-1300 or Tom Ryan, Director of Business Operations, at 330-477-8121.  Those wishing consideration need to complete a BCI/FBI check and fill out a Perry Local Schools classified staff application.  Forms can be found on line under community/employment or at the Central Office at 4201 13th St. SW, Massillon, Ohio 44646.

“People of Character” Annual Recognition

Yesterday afternoon, October 20th, several members of our Perry Local Schools’ community were recognized as “people of character” at the annual recognition at R.G. Drage. Congratulations to the following employees, students, and volunteers for their dedication and commitment to living the six pillars of character (trustworthy, respect, responsibility, fair, caring, and citizenship):

Perry Band Makes History

On October 15th, the Perry High School Marching Band entered into an Ohio Music Education Association Marching Band competition.  The students were evaluated on musical performance, marching performance, percussion, and overall “general effect” of the performance.  The Marching Panthers competed in class AA (based on school size, AA being the largest) and earned a 1st place finish for their class.  In addition, Perry earned a Superior rating which qualified them for State Finals in Dayton, OH.  (more…)
