Latest News for Perry Local Schools
On March 7, one of our high school students brought in candy to share. One of the students who had received the candy, began to redistribute and claim that the candy had been tampered with. This caused panic for the other students who had consumed the candy. Appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken against the student who caused anxiety and fear. We will not tolerate this type of behavior. An official report has been made by the Perry Township Police Department that can be viewed here. Again, the safety of our students is our top priority and we take any situation that affects their well-being very seriously.
March 23rd is Hat Day, for $1 you can wear your hat ALL DAY LONG! This is a friendly competition between schools in our district to see which school can raise the most money. All money raised is split three ways: the school that raises the most money will get to choose a non-profit organization where a third of the money will be sent, a third goes to Business Professionals of America (BPA–Co-sponsors this event) and another third goes to Perry Athletic Hall of Fame (Co-sponsors of this event). Show your support by wearing your favorite hat on March 23rd!
Due to an instituted change by Perry’s banking partner, effective immediately all checks for school activities, clubs, etc should be made out to Perry Local Schools. The memo line can be used to distinguish the specific activity, club, etc for which the check was written for.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
We would like to provide everyone in the community with an update on the candy incident that took place on March 7 at the high school. At this time, preliminary indications do not suggest that the candy was tampered with. When the official results are available, we will provide an update. Again, we do not believe there is any additional cause for concern. I would like to thank area safety services for their quick response and support. I would also like to thank our staff members for always putting our students first. Again, the well-being of our students is our top priority and we take all situations that may impact their safety and health very seriously. Click here to download this press release.
