Once again, Perry Baseball will be selling donuts after ALL Perry home football games! We will have donuts outside both gate entrances this week. Get your dozen before they’re gone!

Marching Panthers Earn 11th Consecutive Superior Rating

phsbandThe Marching Panthers concluded their competition season on Saturday, October 10th by earning their 11th consecutive Superior rating at the Maysville Band Competition.  Perry brought home awards for Best Overall General Effect, Best Auxiliary, and came in first place in Class AA.  The Marching Panthers will perform on November 1st in the OMEA Marching Band State Finals at The  University of Dayton.

Perry Local Schools Celebrate National School Lunch Week October 12 – 16

To recognize the National School Lunch Program and the 30 million children it serves every day Perry Local Schools will recognize National School Lunch Week from October 12-16, 2015. The theme, “School Lunch Snapshot” is all about sharing the best images of today’s school lunches.

National School Lunch Week will emphasize the healthy foods that are offered daily at our schools.  School lunches have changed considerably and are healthier than ever, with more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and less fat and sodium. (more…)

Perry High School Band 5th Annual Mattress Sale Fundraiser

The Perry High School Band will be holding their 5th annual mattress sale fundraiser on Saturday, October 17th from 10AM-5PM in the PHS Auxiliary Gym. All sizes of mattresses will be available. A variety of mattress types: firm, pillow-top, orthopedic, latex, and gel memory foam sets will be for sale. All mattresses are BRAND NEW with full factory warranties. Name brands like Simmons, Beautyrest, and more will be part of the selection. Delivery and free layaway are available. Free Pasta Dinner & Community Fair – October 15th

Pfeiffer Intermediate School will be hosting a free pasta dinner on Thursday, October 15th in conjuction with a community resource fair. Dinner will be served from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM with the resource fair open from 5 – 8 PM. 

Parents can enjoy a free meal and browse the many resources available for families such as: physical and mental health, community services, educational services, food and clothing assistance, and safety information for home, school and online. 
 
Dinner is being provided by: Pfeiffer staff, BND Bent-N-Dent on Navarre Road, Mid’s Homestyle Pasta Sauce, and Norcia’s Bakery. Click here for an event flyer.

Volley for the Cure – Tuesday,October 6th

volleyforcurePerry High School’s girls volleyball team will be hosting Volley for the Cure on Tuesday, October 6th  as part of the Perry versus Lake volleyball game.  Events for the evening kick-off at 4:30 PM with a students versus staff volleyball match. All Proceeds from t-shirt sales, 50/50 and basket raffles will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  (more…)

Girl Scouts Respectfully and Properly Retiring American Flags

Do you have an American Flag that needs properly retired?

Bring your tired, bring your torn… American Flags to Edison Middle School. Girl Scout Troop 61039 will take those flags in order to respectfully and properly retire them for you.  The Troop will be retiring as many flags as they can so they can earn their Silver Award.  The Silver Award is the second highest award in Girl Scouts. The troop has a box in the office at Edison Middle School.  If you have access to a large quantity, please contact Tricia Scott, leader at 330.479.8739 to arrange pickup. Elementary Wrestling Clinic Grades 1-6: October 20 – 22

AR-140309930The Perry High School wrestling staff and the nationally ranked PHS wrestling team will be hosting an elementary wrestling clinic for beginning wrestlers in grades 1 – 6. The clinic will take place October 20th – October 22nd from 6 – 7 PM in the main gym at Perry High School. Cost for the clinic is $25 which includes awards, tournament entry to be held at the conclusion of the clinic, and a Perry wrestling t-shirt.  Questions can be directed to Danny Genetin through email at: Danny.Genetin@perrylocal.org

Parent Workshop on Social Media Abuse – October 22nd @ 6:30 PM

Addictive behaviors are rapidly increasing amongst  adolescents with social media use and misuse. Mental health professionals will address these  behaviors and provide strategies to aid parents.

As a community service Perry Local Schools and Northeast Behavioral Health are hosting a parent workshop on social media abuse. The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM in Edison’s LRC.  Click here for an event flyer.

 

PHS Band Qualifies for 5th Consecutive State Finals

perryband2Congratulations to the Perry High School Marching Band on qualifying for OMEA State Finals for the 5th consecutive year!  The band competed at The University of Akron on Saturday, September 26th bringing home awards for best overall music and best percussion!
