Stark State College is hosting Tech Savvy, a daylong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career conference designed to attract girls in sixth through ninth grade to these fields and to inform families about STEM education and careers. Congratulations to Perry High School Marching Band Flag Line members Madison Morgan and Marissa Westfall for being selected to participate in the Bands of America Honor Band in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade! Students from all over the United States submitted video auditions to be selected as part of this prestigious group of 300 high school band members. The Perry Players, celebrating their 55th anniversary season, present Monty Python’s Spamalot, the hilarious “Tony Award” winning Broadway musical. Shows will take place at 7:30 PM each evening beginning on Wednesday, March 16th through Saturday, March 19th in the Mattichione Theatre at Perry High School. The boys basketball game versus Central Catholic is still on as scheduled for this evening, Tuesday, February 16th. The junior varsity game is set to tip-off at 6:00 PM. The varsity boys will start at approximately 7:30 PM.
Perry Local Schools will be closed, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, due to inclement weather. Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed. All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. YCare is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.
Tonight’s (2/10/16) girls basketball game versus Gilmour Academy has been postponed due to the inclement weather in the Cleveland area. The game with Gilmour has been rescheduled for this Saturday, February 13th at Perry High School with the junior varsity game starting at 11:30 AM and the varsity contest beginning at approximately 1:00 PM.
