Panther Football Best Season Ever

ChampionshipThe Perry football team lost to Cincinnati La Salle in the OHSAA Division II State Championship on Friday, December 4th.  Keishaun Sims led the team with 117 yards rushing and finished the season with 3,225 yards which is the 6th most in state history. Dominick Bowman and Tevion Cleveland each had interceptions for the Panthers.  Keishaun also earned Ohio’s Mr. Football by the Associated Press for the 2015 season.  The State Runner-up finish was the best for Perry football in school history.

Community Pep Rally – Thursday, December 3rd @ 6 PM

IMG_2218On the eve of playing in their first ever state finals for football, the Perry community is ramping up the excitement with a community-wide pep rally to be held Thursday, December 3rd at 6 PM.  The rally will take place in the main gym at Perry High School.  Join us as we wish good luck to our football team as they travel down to Columbus to play in the D2 State Championship game against Cincinnati LaSalle Friday night. Doors will open at 5 PM and the pep rally will start at 6 PM.  The football stadium will be open with the lights on beforehand to take pictures or toss a football around.  Once inside, there will be face painting, the band and cheerleaders will be present, game tickets and shirts will be available for purchase, and 2,000 free rally towels will be given away.   WHBC radio personality Kenny Roda will be the pep rally host.  Players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs after the pep rally.

Sharon Budd Fundraiser – December 9, 2015

Wendy’s in Perry Township (5017 West Tuscarawas Street) is sponsoring a community fundraiser event from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 9th, with proceeds going to the Sharon Budd family.  The event is a Star Wars themed event with a bake sale, gift basket raffle and free pictures with Star Wars characters. D2 State Finals Ticket Information

The Perry Panther football team will play in the Division 2 State Final Football Championship game versus Cincinnati La Salle at Ohio Stadium in Columbus (map) on Friday, December 4th. Kick-off is set for 8:00 PM. Presale tickets will be sold at the PHS Athletic ticket office for $10 beginning on Monday (11/30) from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The ticket office will be open on Tuesday (12/01) and Wednesday (12/02) from 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM and Thursday (12/03) from 7:30 AM until the conclusion of the community pep rally. Tickets at the gate are $12 (reserved).

Main Logo PThis coming Friday, the Perry Panthers will travel to Columbus to compete for a Division II State Football Championship. This exciting time does present some challenges as we look to accommodate the interest in supporting our young men and the Perry community. Ultimately it was decided that Perry Local Schools will close on Friday, December 4th.  Also, there will be a community-wide pep rally on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM in the Perry High School gymnasium.

Ticket information will be posted Sunday (11/29) afternoon.

 

D2 State Semifinal Ticket Information

Main Logo PThe Perry Panther football team will play a Division 2 State Semifinal versus Hudson at Solon’s Stewart Field (map) on Friday, November 27th. Kick-off is set for 7:30 PM. Presale tickets will be sold at the PHS Athletic ticket office for $8 beginning on Monday (11/23) from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The ticket office will be open on Tuesday (11/24) from 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM and Wednesday (11/25) from 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Tickets at the gate are $10. Passes at the gate will not be accepted. There will be no limit on the number of tickets you may purchase.

Panthers Reach the Final Four

Final FourThe Perry Football team won the Regional Championship in a matchup against Worthington Kilborne by a final score of 28-7 at Mount Vernon Yellow Jacket Stadium on Friday, November 20th.  Tevion Cleveland rushed for one touchdown and caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Max Baker in the first half as the Panthers took a 14-0 lead into halftime.  Keishaun Sims scored two more rushing touchdowns in the 2nd half to give him 42 total Touchdowns on the season.  Overall, Sims and Cleveland ended up with 182 and 142 yards rushing respectively and once again the defense proved dominant throughout the night. Believe Concert Set for December 14 & 15

Holiday greetings to you all! admission-ticket-iconOur 6th annual Polar Express-themed concert–titled “Believe”–is quickly approaching.  On Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m., join us for an evening of seasonal music. The program will feature our six choirs, a live pit orchestra, PHS Rockettes, elves, cookies, hot chocolate dancers, The Polar Express read by Louie Mattachione, and even a special guest or two.  Children are our guests on this trip to the North Pole, and they’re welcome to come dressed in their pajamas; after the concert, we invite all our guests to join us in the “dining car”  for treats and a special gift for the kids.  It’s a fun evening that’s becoming a Perry tradition–so don’t miss out!

Updated Perry Rotary Basketball Schedule

shapeimage_2Due to the Perry football team playing in a Division 2 Regional Final, the Panther’s basketball team will not  be participating in the Perry Rotary Preview. The 24th annual Paul F. Pfeiffer Perry Rotary Basketball preview will take place at Perry High School on Friday, November 20th at 6:00 PM.  Tickets will be sold at the door, $6 for adults and $5 for students. Children 5 and under are free. Money raised will help provide scholarships for student athletes participating in the event. The updated schedule for the evening is:  (more…)
