Release of Student Data Notification

student-photo-privacyA U.S. District Court has ordered that 2013-2014 school year records from the Ohio Department of Education’s Educational Management Information System be turned over to Disability Rights Ohio as part of an ongoing lawsuit.

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, families of students whose data will be released must be notified and given the opportunity to object. The court is instructing all local education agencies to post notice about this opportunity to object on their district websites (more…)

2013-2014 Yearbook Pick-up Information

yearbook2013-2014 Yearbooks are in!  Past graduates may begin picking up a pre-ordered yearbook on Tuesday, September 9 during school hours. Distribution for all current students will begin on Monday, September 8 during all lunch mods.
MONDAY: Last names: A-G
TUESDAY: Last Names: H-N
WEDNESDAY: Last names: O-R
THURSDAY: Last names: S-Z
FRIDAY: Everyone

Beginning Band for All Pfeiffer 6th Graders

imagesI am excited to invite all Pfeiffer 6th graders to become members of the band. In the coming week, all Pfeiffer 6th graders will have the opportunity to try all of the beginning band instruments including Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion. No prior music experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to join. After the the students have tried each instrument they will bring home an enrollment form and you and your child can discuss the instrument they would like to play. Students can participate in both band and choir at Pfeiffer Intermediate.

Lohr First Graders Kick Off New School Year

lohrpictWe are excited about the new school year in Mrs. Deuble’s class and with a new school year comes a new football season.  The Cleveland Browns have been preparing for a new season and constructing a new scoreboard too.  While they were clearing out items to make room for newer items they were disposing of these media guides.  They donated a class set of media guides from all different professional football teams to our class.  We now each have one in our book bin to enjoy.  Thanks Cleveland Browns!  Go Browns!

Bake Sale and Fundraiser to Benefit Sharon Budd

sharonbuddFriends of Sharon Budd, a victim of a thrown rock, invite the community and visitors to buy baked goods, purchase a “Rosebud Wishes” card for $1, or make a monetary donation. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, August 23rd at the Hartville Hardware from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Upcoming Fundraiser Events For Sharon Budd & Family

SHIRT ORDERSeveral fundraising events are scheduled for Sharon Budd and Family over the next few weeks

– A member of the Budd family has organized a Poker Run for Saturday, September 20th.  Registration and departure will be from Edison MS. More information will be forthcoming.

– A Perry softball alumni game is also scheduled for Saturday, September 20th and will be benefit Sharon.  It will be held at the varsity softball field.

Pfeiffer Students Record Song as Part of Bully Prevention Program

photo (3)Pfeiffer Intermediate School is proud to have adopted the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.    The biggest difference in this anti-bullying program from others is that the emphasis is on changing the culture by empowering bystanders, rather than just trying to change the bullies and their victims.    In early August,  several students recorded a song which will be used as our theme for the year.
