PHS Business Students Jewelry Sale a Success

SONY DSCThe Business Department would like to congratulate Wyatt Bamfield, Trisha Barnett, Sarah Beadle, and Brandon Nisewonger for winning the Economics Jewelry Sale funded by an Arts in Stark grant. Three teams of students made all the economics decisions necessary while competing to see who could produce and sell the most I.D. badge holders. The winning team will split the $259 revenue generated by the project.

PHS Bands Earn High Ratings at OMEA State Finals

perrybandCongratulations to the members of the Perry HS Bands who performed at OMEA State Finals this past weekend!  The Perry Concert Band earned an overall rating of Excellent, the second highest rating.  This is the third year in a row the group has qualified for State contest.  The Perry Symphonic Winds performed Friday night, and earned straight Superior ratings.  This marks 2 full years of perfect scores for the Symphonic Winds!  Congratulations to all students for your hard work this year!

Safety Day – May 3rd, 9 AM – 12 PM

IMGP7951AirBearBring your kids and neighbors to Safety Day at Edison Middle School, Saturday May 3rd from 9 AM – 12 PM.  Interact with the Perry Police, Perry Fire Department, the Sheriff’s office, YMCA, Stark Parks, climb in the Akron Care Bear Helicopter and much more!  There will be face-painting, popcorn and activities for the kids.  This event is totally FREE!

2014 Football Season Ticket Information

Screen shot 2014-04-17 at 10.07.22 AMWe are once again gearing up for an exciting football season.  Reserve your season tickets now for the 2014 Varsity Football season.  Sales will be from now through Friday, May 16, 2014.  Pick-up will be June 2-12, 2014 (M-TH). The cost is $35.00 per set (5 homes games).  By ordering season tickets, you are guaranteed your reserved seat(s) for the entire season.  At the time of pick-up, you will receive all of your tickets plus a season ticket holder membership card.  You will be able to keep your reserved seat assignment(s) from year-to-year, provided you purchase season tickets each year.  You may also purchase additional Massillon tickets at the time of pick-up.  (more…)

Art Students Help HOF Marathon Break Through The Wall

Friday, April 27th, hundreds of Hall of Fame Marathon runners came through the front circle of Perry High School.  The runners were met by hundreds of flags from the Flags of Freedom Foundation and art work from the PHS Art students encouraging the runners to break through the wall.  “The Wall” they are referring to is when a runner’s body wants to shut down during a marathon, they are about to hit the wall.  A trained runner knows how to fight through “the wall’ and continue with the race.

Athletic Physicals Offered Through Affinity Medical Center – June 13th

athletic physicalsAffinity Medical Center will offer a complete physical that meets the requirements of the Ohio High School Athletic Association for prospective Perry athletes on Friday, June 13th at Perry High School. Cost of the physical is $10 payable at check-in on Friday, June 13th. Checks can be made payable to Perry High School. Check-in for physicals begins at 2:20 PM in the athletic wing lobby.  Physicals are  good for one calendar year. Athletes whose current physicals expire May 17th through June 13th will be granted an extension so that they may take advantage of the physicals being offered on June 13th.  Prospective athletes must have a completed (more…)

PHS Business Students Help Pfeiffer Snack Shack

The Business Department would like to congratulate PHS students Trisha Barnett and Katelyn MacArthur and Pfeiffer students Lincoln Warstler, Logan Keim, Jack Wagner, and Payton Daugherty for being Business Plan Development Program award recipients. Because of their business plan, the Massillon Area Chamber of Commerce awarded $500 to Pfeiffer Middle School to start a business, The Pfeiffer Snack Shack. All proceeds from the Pfeiffer Snack Shack will be donated to the Pfeiffer Homework Club so that students who need tutoring can stay after school to get the help they need. Thanks Trisha and Katelyn for making a difference in Perry!
