The Jungle Brings Back School Spirit

IMG_1528There was a “Beat Massillon” Pep Rally on Thursday, August 28th.  There was the band, cheerleaders, football team and all the students in the gym looking for something that has been missing….school spirit.  Well, they found it and they found it big!  The Jungle, Perry’s new school spirit group led the pep rally from start to finish and it was amazing.  There were school cheers being yelled, songs being learned, and a sense of community and spirit in the building.  This sense of spirit spilled right onto the football field Thursday night as the Panthers battled the Tigers.  The Jungle was out in full force, painted in pink to show support for Mrs. Budd.  They stood on their feet and cheered the entire game.  The Panthers came up on the short end of the score, but something much bigger was won Thursday night.  A sense of community,  a sense of pride, a sense of school spirit.  #WeArePanthers

Knapp Kindergarten Gets Surprise Visit from Superintendent

IMG_0863We had a surprise visit from Superintendent Mr. Marty Bowe in Kindergarten at T.C. Knapp on one of our phase-in days. Mr. Bowe graciously read our students the book The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. Afterward, he followed us on a scavenger hunt around the school to try and find the main character, Chester Raccoon. Along the way, students stopped at each of their specials classrooms to see where they go for each special. Chester even gave Mr. Bowe his very own kissing hand! How special! Thank you to Mr. Bowe for your willingness and time to make our students’ day more special.
