Charlie Steiner Sets New Record

Congratulations to Junior, Charlie Steiner, who set a new indoor track pole vault record this past Saturday at Kent State University.  In the meet, Charlie placed 2nd overall and cleared a new personal best height of 14’0″.

Alumni News – Jason Farnham

In the fall of 2009, Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures launched a syndicated daily talk show called “The Dr. Oz Show.” Much of the music for this show, including the cues before and after the commercial breaks, are composed and performed by 1993 Perry alumnus, Jason Farnham. (more…)

Blessings for Ben

PHS College Medical Tech Prep students have chosen to help a student at Genoa elementary for their service project. A pasta plus buffet dinner is planned for Sunday, February 14, from 2:00 – 5:00 at Lakeside Banquet Center (Lakeside is generously donating the food and drinks).Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for children under 12 and may be purchased by contacting Mr. Brothers at brotherd@perrylocal.org. Valentines for Veterans

During the month of January, the PHS Key Club will be making Valentines to send to veterans and enlisted men and women.
If you know a veteran or enlisted man or woman, please email vanweye@perrylocal.org with their name, full address and branch of service. Key Club members will be happy to send them a handmade Valentine!

PHS Physics Participating in NASA Program

Perry’s Physics classes will be studying aerodynamics and airplane wing design this year thanks to NASA. Through a program sponsored by NASA Glenn Research Center, Nate Van Wey’s physics classes received $700 worth of equipment to study, design, and build wings and gliders as part of a physics curriculum which focuses on aerodynamics. NASA Glenn is an international leader in airplane wing design and testing. Nate’s participation in a NASA summer program made his classes eligible to apply for a grant to receive these teaching tools.

PHS Physics to Study Energy Vampires

IMAGEFirstEnergy Corporation has chosen Perry High School’s Physics classes to receive a grant. The Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education grant was awarded to Nate Van Wey’s classes to study electric energy waste. (more…)
