A Message from the Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier Zero Tolerance Policy for Social Media Threats

Canton, Ohio – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is making it known to the community that there is a  zero-tolerance policy for individuals who issue or repost threatening messages using social media.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to investigating any individual who utilizes social media in a way to create fear or alarm to others.  We will hold them accountable.  (more…)

Spring 2018 Swim Lessons

The Perry Natatorium staff will be holding American Red Cross swim lessons during the spring months of 2018.  Classes are on a first come, first serve basis with a limited number for each class. Registration will be taken at the PHS Athletic Office from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday beginning Thursday, February 15th thru Wednesday, March 14th.  Click here for class and registration information.

Perry Local Schools Closed Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Perry Local Schools will be closed, Wednesday, February 7, 2018, due to inclement weather.  Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed.  All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after-school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are canceled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. Y­Care is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.

The Perry Players Present Hairspray The Broadway Musical

Perry HairsprayThe Perry Players will perform Hairspray The Broadway Musical at Perry High School in the Mattachione Theatre. Performances are March 22-24 at 7:00 PM each evening and Sunday, March 25th at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10 each. Pick up order forms at PHS or purchase tickets online.   Senior citizen coupons are available at the PHS lobby desk for the 2:00 PM show on Sunday, March 25th.

“Hidden in Plain Sight” – A Community Event – January 30, 2018

Do you know the warning signs of drug and alcohol abuse in teenage students? On January, 30, Pfeiffer Intermediate School will be hosting a special program titled “Hidden in Plain Sight” beginning at 6 p.m. Audience members will be given 30 minutes to “snoop and search” a unique display of an interactive teenager’s bedroom with over 150 items that may be indicative of dangerous behaviors.  (more…)

A Community Coming Together Event – Thursday, February 1, 2018

Tomorrow, February 1, 2018, our Perry Community is Coming Together at the Canton Baptist Temple, located at 515 Whipple Ave., NW from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. Ellen Rome, MD, MPH, will be discussing Adolescent Mental Health, followed by Stark Family Court’s Assistant Court Administrator Jacob Morgan discussing How to Keep Your Kids Safe Online. At 7:30 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to visit many community resource tables and receive information and engage in conversation. This event is sponsored by the Perry Township Police Department, Fire Department, Churches and Board of Trustees, Perry Rotary and Perry Local School District.

Harlem Wizards vs Perry Teaching Staff – Monday, November 13, 2017

harlemwizardsThe Perry Township Rotary will sponsor a fun-filled night of action when a talented group of Perry teachers competes against the Harlem Wizards. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Perry High School. Pre-sale tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets at the gate are $10 for students and $12 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the PHS Athletic Office during school hours. All proceeds from this exciting event benefit the Career and Wellness Center.
