The Perry High School Cheerleaders will be holding a winter cheerleading clinic for Perry’s K-6 students on Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Pfeiffer Intermediate School. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of cheering, stretching, and complete a craft. Cheerleaders will also learn one dance routine, five chants, and one cheer to use at the February 17th basketball game versus Youngstown Ursuline. Edison students and Pfeiffer sixth grade students planning to participate in the College Credit Plus program next year, have applied to Stark State and are planning to take the Accuplacer test please note the schedule below. Questions can be directed to your building’s counselor.
The Accuplacer Test will be given at Perry High School to students in grades 6-8 on the following dates in the high school library: January 21st at 9:00am – 1:00pm. January 23rd, 25th and 26th at 3:15pm and January 29th from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Be on time and be sure to have your Stark State ID number with you.
The College Credit Plus (CCP) Information Meeting and the College Fair will be held tonight at Perry High School. Eight colleges will be represented and will be available to speak to from 5:00-8:00 in the PHS cafeteria. The CCP informational meeting will be held in PHS AV200 and will start at 6:00 PM. All updated CCP information and forms will be shared at the meeting.
Perry Local Schools will be closed, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, due to inclement weather. Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed. All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are canceled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. YCare is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.
The Perry baseball staff and players will hold a youth clinic for players on Sunday, February 19th, and Sunday, February 26th. Participants will receive quality baseball instruction and a Perry Youth Clinic t-shirt. Preregistration is mandatory for the clinic. Registration fees are due by Friday, February 10th. The Board of Education recently updated its Dress Code Policy and Student Dress Code Guidelines. These changes are reflected in the attached two documents and will take effect January 17, 2017. Input was given by the board of education, administration, staff, and students. If you have any questions, please address them to the appropriate building administration.

Attention all students grades 6-11 interested in taking a College Credit Plus (CCP) class in the 2017-2018 school year. The last College Credit Plus meeting will be held next Tuesday, January 10th. This Thursday (Dec. 1) evening our Perry football team is going back to Columbus to compete for a Division II State Championship. This exciting time presents some challenges as we look to accommodate the interest in supporting our young men, band, cheerleaders and the Perry community. With the game being held on a Thursday night there are additional logistics that make it difficult for everyone traveling. Ensuring everyone’s safety as they head back and forth to Columbus is of the utmost importance. Ultimately, it was decided that Perry Local Schools will be having a 2-hour early release on Thursday, December 1st and Perry Local Schools will not be in session on Friday, December 2nd. It is our hope this allows families to plan accordingly and assists in keeping everyone safe in their travels. Congratulations to all those associated with Perry football and to our community. Enjoy this moment again and let’s not take anything for granted. What an awesome reminder of the many great things happening in Perry Local Schools. Go Panthers!
