Band Fundraiser Pick up and Information

Dear Band Students and Parents: In February, many of you ordered Butterbraid products to support the Perry Band program.  With social distancing in place, it has been difficult for us to arrange product delivery.  On behalf of the Perry Bands, I apologize for this delay.  We now have a pick up date scheduled for May 15th, from 3PM-6PM near the PHS Wellness Center entrance.  If you ordered Butterbraid products, this will be the only opportunity to pick them up.  Unfortunately, we can’t store the items for you if you are unavailable on this date,  so please arrange for someone else to pick up your order if you are unavailable.  We have limited access to school buildings and this is the very best we can do.  We ask that you stay in your vehicle until one of our volunteers assists you.  Please avoid the main entrance to PHS (near the front steps) as we will be conducting our Uniform/Equipment return for HS Band members during this time. All orders can be picked up in the parking lot near the PHS Swimming Pool/Wellness Center Entrance.  Again, this will take place on May 15th, from 3PM-6PM.  Thank you for your continued support and I hope each one of you is doing well. – Ryan Smith

Perry Bond Levy Update

With the unofficial positive outcome of Bond Levy Issue 15, Perry Local School District has secured the funding to build four new elementary school buildings in addition to targeted renovations to Perry High School and the Career & Wellness Center. Should we receive the official passing of this levy on May 19th , the district will have secured a partnership with the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) to receive $80 million in state funding for this project. These dollars will be used to build a new Middle School and complete the renovations to Perry High School. We are appreciative of those who exercised their right to vote early for the levy in March and those who submitted absentee ballots given our current climate due to the coronavirus pandemic. It has not been an easy past few months for our country and our township. We have faced unprecedented obstacles, but have banded together to display what Perry Pride truly means through the strength and resiliency of our community. I would like to thank those who worked tirelessly to get out in the community and keep residents informed and educated about Issue 15. Their diligence and hard work speaking with residents and answering questions at night and on weekends is truly commendable. We will continue to update Perry Township residents throughout the planning stages of this project. Should you have questions about plan details, please visit the Bond Levy Issue 15 FAQ section on www.perrylocal.org.
On behalf of the Perry Board of Education,
Thank You!
Sincerely,

Band & Choir Sign Up for Pfeiffer

Attention all 5th grade parents and students…
In a normal school year we would be enrolling 5th grade students in next year’s band and choir programs for Pfeiffer…but as you know this year has been anything but normal. However, we are still very excited to have you join the band, choir, or both ensembles for the 2020-2021 school year.  Band & Choir are open to all 5th graders moving into 6th grade next year. You do not need to have any prior musical experience to join these groups. This is a great opportunity to explore playing a musical instrument and singing in a full choir. Students are able to do Band only, Choir only, or participate in both ensembles. Please watch these informational videos about each group…

Remote Learning Grading Guidelines

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Perry Local has established the following grading guidelines for the fourth grading period.  With the Governor’s decision to continue educating remotely for the remainder of the year, the District thought it was important to clearly outline the academic expectations for the final grading period.  Understanding the difficulties of truly educating and evaluating  a student remotely, these guidelines were created to encourage our students to remain engaged in their learning but at the same time not be punitive.  Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through this season much longer than most of us hoped.  We know however the safety and wellbeing of our students will always be the overarching theme of what drives Perry Local.  Puede hacer clic aquí para ver la versión en español.

Mobile Response Information

This includes, but is not limited to, things like: Family argument / Parental struggles / Behavior concerns in yourself or others / Feelings of isolation / Difficulty coping with stress / Substance use worries.  This service is available 24/7/365 through Coleman Crisis Services, and is still operating (safely) during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Call 330-452-6000 to reach the Mobile Response team, and read more about them – including the reasons people call – in this PDF, which you may have seen in The Repository last weekend.

Perry Local Schools Update 3-30-2020

Dear Perry Local Parents and Guardians,
This afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine made the decision to extend the closure of Ohio’s K-12 schools through Friday, May 1, 2020 as concerns continue to arise over the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We will support the Governor’s decision as the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff members remains our top priority. We recognize the enormity of this decision as it affects the lives of our families as well our district operations. Please continue to visit our website to receive information and important district updates: www.Perrylocal.org. We also know that remote learning, which we began today, will continue through April. Please make sure to visit our remote learning site www.bit.ly/remoteperry.  We will continue to work with our families and caregivers during this challenging time.
