Pfeiffer Announces 2nd Grading Period Honor & Merit Rolls

honor_rollPfeiffer students qualifying for the second quarter honor roll and merit roll have been announced. To be listed on the honor roll a student must have a 3.5 – 4.00 grade-point average. To be listed on the merit roll a student mush have a 3.00 – 3.49 grade-point average. Congratulations to all students who earned this academic recognition.

K-6 Cheer Clinic Information

20140316_210931On January 24th, 2015 the Perry High School Cheerleaders will be holding a cheer clinic for kindergartners through 6th grade.  The clinic will be held at Pfeiffer Intermediate School from 10am-3pm.  Each participant will learn one dance, five chants and one cheer.  Click here to download the flyer with all of the information and registration.

No School, January 12, 2015

school closedPerry Local Schools will be closed, Monday, January 12, 2015, due to inclement weather.  Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed.  All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. Y­Care is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.

Testing Resources

testingPfeiffer students will be participating in testing beginning in February and running through the end of March.  Many of the tests will be taken online. Parents and students can get more information and view available resources by visiting the following link: Next Gen Assessments.


district9The District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, March 19th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). Dr. Cathy Hamilton will present on high expectations, employment and student success. Parents and educators are encouraged to attend the very informative presentation. Christmas Around the World

aroundtheworld2On December 12th the students from Mrs. Logan’s kindergarten went on a trip to Pfeiffer Intermediate School that took them around the world. When they arrived at Pfeiffer, they were greeted by Mrs. Casey’s 5th grade honor students. The fifth grade students presented their “Christmas Around the World” project to the kindergarten students. The presentation included facts about the culture, food and traditions of six different countries. The fifth grade students shared interesting facts and even sang holiday songs for the students, showing how other countries celebrate this festive season. Mrs. Logan’s students (more…)

Pfeiffer Art Club Christmas Service Project

Art Club WreathsThe Pfeiffer Intermediate Art Club provided some seasonal joy to residents of The Laurels of Massillon.  Art club members recycled puzzles that were missing a piece or two, to create festive holiday wreaths.  The students discussed the importance of giving to others and spreading artwork throughout the community.

Pfeiffer Announces November Lunchbucket Award Winners!

20141205_081642Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as the November Lunchbucket Award winners! These students “Go to Work” each day with great “Attitude and Effort”. Each student was presented with a certificate, mini “lunchbucket” and had their name read over the P.A. to recognize this achievement.  Great Job!   (more…)

Employability: What Does it Take to Get a Job?

employability_log_webThe District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, January 15th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). The topic will be Employability: What does it take to get a job?  Information will be provided for both parents and educators. An outline of necessary skills students need when pursuing employment will also be provided. Participants will be provided with strategies and supports to identify essential life skills and vocational checklists for both teens and adults.  (more…)
