6th Grade Choir Sign Up News

image02Informational choir meetings for 6th grade students will take place the week of Aug. 25-28 during the 6th grade panther time period. At the meeting 6th grade students will learn about the Perry Choirs and how to sign up for 6th Grade Choir.  We are looking forward to a great year and have lots of exciting events and concerts planned including singing at a Canton Charge Basketball Game! Each student who wants to join the choir will need to turn in the form seen below by Tuesday, September 9th. This form will also be sent home with each 6th grade student. A choir parent meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3rd at 7pm at Pfeiffer. The first day of choir class will be Monday, September 15th.

Release of Student Data Notification

student-photo-privacyA U.S. District Court has ordered that 2013-2014 school year records from the Ohio Department of Education’s Educational Management Information System be turned over to Disability Rights Ohio as part of an ongoing lawsuit.

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, families of students whose data will be released must be notified and given the opportunity to object. The court is instructing all local education agencies to post notice about this opportunity to object on their district websites (more…)

Beginning Band for All Pfeiffer 6th Graders

imagesI am excited to invite all Pfeiffer 6th graders to become members of the band. In the coming week, all Pfeiffer 6th graders will have the opportunity to try all of the beginning band instruments including Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion. No prior music experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to join. After the the students have tried each instrument they will bring home an enrollment form and you and your child can discuss the instrument they would like to play. Students can participate in both band and choir at Pfeiffer Intermediate.
We have two parent meetings after the fittings. Both meetings are the same so it is only necessary (more…)

Upcoming Fundraiser Events For Sharon Budd & Family

SHIRT ORDERSeveral fundraising events are scheduled for Sharon Budd and Family over the next few weeks

– A member of the Budd family has organized a Poker Run for Saturday, September 20th.  Registration and departure will be from Edison MS. More information will be forthcoming.

– A Perry softball alumni game is also scheduled for Saturday, September 20th and will be benefit Sharon.  It will be held at the varsity softball field.

Pfeiffer Students Record Song as Part of Bully Prevention Program

photo (3)Pfeiffer Intermediate School is proud to have adopted the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.    The biggest difference in this anti-bullying program from others is that the emphasis is on changing the culture by empowering bystanders, rather than just trying to change the bullies and their victims.    In early August,  several students recorded a song which will be used as our theme for the year.

Waikem Ford to Host Cruise-In to Benefit Sharon Budd & Family

Screen shot 2014-07-30 at 10.29.36 AMGeorge Waikem Ford (map) will host a classic car cruise-in on Sunday, August 10th from 11: 00 AM – 4:00 PM. The cruise-in, presented by the Rotary Club of Perry Township, is part of the year long celebration of the Perry Township Bicentennial. Donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to Sharon Budd & her family.
