To recognize the National School Lunch Program and the 30 million children it serves every day Perry Local Schools will recognize National School Lunch Week from October 12-16, 2015. The theme, “School Lunch Snapshot” is all about sharing the best images of today’s school lunches.
National School Lunch Week will emphasize the healthy foods that are offered daily at our schools. School lunches have changed considerably and are healthier than ever, with more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and less fat and sodium. (more…)
Pfeiffer will be having a Walk-A-Thon during the school day on Friday, October 16th. Students have received donation envelopes and detailed information. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our school. If every student in the school raises at least $50.00, we can meet our goal! The funds raised will be spent to benefit our students by helping support all of the activities PATS helps with throughout the school year. (more…)
Pfeiffer Intermediate School will be hosting a free pasta dinner on Thursday, October 15th in conjunction with a community resource fair. Dinner will be served from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM with the resource fair open from 5 – 8 PM.
Parents can enjoy a free meal and browse the many resources available for families such as: physical and mental health, community services, educational services, food and clothing assistance, and safety information for home, school and online.
Dinner is being provided by: Pfeiffer staff, BND Bent-N-Dent on Navarre Road, Mid’s Homestyle Pasta Sauce, and Norcia’s Bakery. Click here for an event flyer.
Do you have an American Flag that needs properly retired?
Bring your tired, bring your torn… American Flags to Edison Middle School. Girl Scout Troop 61039 will take those flags in order to respectfully and properly retire them for you. The Troop will be retiring as many flags as they can so they can earn their Silver Award. The Silver Award is the second highest award in Girl Scouts. The troop has a box in the office at Edison Middle School. If you have access to a large quantity, please contact Tricia Scott, leader at 330.479.8739 to arrange pickup. The Perry High School wrestling staff and the nationally ranked PHS wrestling team will be hosting an elementary wrestling clinic for beginning wrestlers in grades 1 – 6. The clinic will take place October 20th – October 22nd from 6 – 7 PM in the main gym at Perry High School. Cost for the clinic is $25 which includes awards, tournament entry to be held at the conclusion of the clinic, and a Perry wrestling t-shirt. Addictive behaviors are rapidly increasing amongst adolescents with social media use and misuse. Mental health professionals will address these behaviors and provide strategies to aid parents.
As a community service Perry Local Schools and Northeast Behavioral Health are hosting a parent workshop on social media abuse. The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM in Edison’s LRC. Click here for an event flyer.
Australian author James Phelan will be visiting Pfeiffer Intermediate school on Friday, October 2nd at 2:00 PM. Mr. Phelan will be speaking to students and guests. More information about the author can be found by visiting James Phelan’s Twitter account.

The Perry Players will open their 55th Annual Theatre Season with the presentation of their Annual Children’s Theatre Production. Perry Theatre Director, Louie Mattachione has announced that the production this year will be the enchanting story of ICE CREAM SECRETS.
A total of 9 students have been cast in the production while another 20 students will be working on the technical crews for the show. In addition, 12 students will make up the Perry Theatre Clown Troupe who will meet and greet audience members as they arrive for the production.

P.A.T.S. would like to invite you to join your child for our Mornings with Mom (Grade 5 only) event on Friday, October, 9th, from 8:00 to 8:30 am. This is a special time when the children are able to share a treat with their Mom or other special woman in their life.
Please return the permission slip no later than Monday, October 5th otherwise your student will not be released from their class. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept any forms after the date listed above because we have to pre-order the donuts. Due to limited space, this event is just for Pfeiffer students and one guest. We cannot accommodate other family members. Please meet your child in the cafeteria BEFORE entering the gym.
