On Friday, March 14th Perry High School students and staff celebrated the great mathematical holiday, Pi Day. Students in Mrs. Meinke’s classes prepared the pies and we are happy to report that every single pie was sold! We were able to raise $378 for the Matt McLeese Mission. A big thanks to the students, staff and cafeteria workers whose combined efforts made it all possible.
Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as the February Lunch Bucket Award winners! These students “Go to Work” each day with great “Attitude and Effort”. Each student was presented with a Certificate, mini “lunch bucket” and had their name read over the P.A. to recognize this achievement. Great Job!

Pfeiffer parents/guardians of 6th grade students are invited to attend an Outdoor Education Program informational meeting for on Thursday, April 3rd at 6:30 PM. The meeting will take place in Pfeiffer’s gym and will cover specifics regarding the program held at Camp Muskingum including a fundraising opportunity. Students in Mrs. Woofter’s class celebrated “Pi” Day with some tasty treats. Students completed activities related to pi and how it is used in math. We all remember the formula to calculate an area of a circle: A = π r2
Students in Pfeiffer’s Art Club recently completed a school beautification project in the entryway as a means of greeting guests using their artistic talent to add color, positive messages and creative pictures to the space. Students began the project last fall when they brainstormed designs for the ceiling tiles that send inviting messages upon entering the building. Our 2014 Perry High School team wants to give girls in grades 1st through 5th the opportunity to be the team manager for one of the 2014 home games. As manager you will help the team in pre-game warm ups, hand the score card to the umpire before the game and sit in the dugout for the entire game! Please fill out the completed form and return it to your school office before March 17, 2014. Pfeiffer’s spring picture program is prepay. Only those students purchasing pictures on or before picture day will be photographed on Thursday, March 13th.
There are two ways to pre-order your pictures:
Online ordering available two weeks prior to picture day and until 48 hours after picture day.
2. Traditional – Fill out the paper order form and bring on picture day. (Order forms will be passed out at school)

It’s important to remind our students that when they are waiting at the bus stop, they should wait with someone and not be alone. As they are walking home from the bus stop, we encourage them to walk in groups so they are not alone. Students should never get into a car with someone they don’t know and they should always report any suspicious activity to an adult. We want to keep our students safe and are asking for your help in talking with your children about these important bus stop safety reminders.
More than 500 participants braved the cold Saturday morning to take part in the Matt McLeese 5k Mission Walk/Run. Edison had an amazing turnout that included faculty, students, and their families. Katie Williams placed first in the Girls 9-12 division, while Caden Basham took first in the Boys 9-12 division. Grace Volpe finished 2nd in the Girls 13-15. We are proud of all those who spent their morning taking this challenge to honor Mr. McLeese.
