Pfeiffer Student Council applications are now available. Students and parents must complete all parts of the application in order to be considered for student council. The student portion of the application is to be turned in to Mrs. Bitzel (Grade 6) or Miss Carlile (Grade 5). Teacher evaluations must be completed by the student’s homeroom teacher. The Perry Cross Country Booster Club is sponsoring a 5th and 6th Grade Running Club for Pfeiffer students. Organized runs will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays through October 9th. Runs will end at 4:00 PM each day. Students must have the running club form submitted, and a current emergency medical form on file in the office to participate. Friday, September 6th students at Pfeiffer Intermediate School attended a short assembly to kick off an important Fundraising Drive. Pfeiffer students will be selling Zap A Snack French Bread Pizzas, Cookie Jar Pre-portioned Cookie Dough, A.I. Root Premium Candles, Quaker Steak & Lube Sauces and more! All profits from the fundraiser will benefit students throughout the school year. Pfeiffer’s fundraiser will run through Friday, September 2oth. Families of Pfeiffer Intermediate students are invited to attend Curriculum Night at Pfeiffer Intermediate School on Wednesday, September 4th at 6:00 PM. Curriculum Night is a way for parents/guardians to receive specific information about their student’s courses, how assignments are graded, major units of study, and strategies to help their student at home. The evening will begin in the gymnasium where parents/guardians will be dismissed to their student’s homeroom. Parents/Guardians are asked to know their student’s homeroom prior to arriving for the evening. Once in homeroom, schedules for students will be handed to parents/guardians to follow for the remainder of the evening. If possible, please refrain from bringing your student to this event. Presentations and information are specifically geared for parents/guardians. Parents/Guardians are encouraged have questions prepared and to take notes.
The Spirit Shop is now open each Thursday during lunch periods (11:13 – 1:22) in the cafeteria. The Spirit Shop carries a variety of pencils, erasers, lanyards, spirit beads, and other unique items for the Perry student and fan! In addition the Spirit Shop carries Perry t-shirts and hoodies that can be special ordered. Checks and cash are the only forms of payment accepted. Checks can be made out to Pfeiffer P.A.T.S.

Perry Youth Basketball will hold registration for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Parents/Guardians of boys in grades 3-6 can register their child on Sunday, September 22 or Sunday, September 29 from 3:00p – 7:00p at the Perry Township Hall (map). Pfeiffer’s parent support group (P.A.T.S.) will meet on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM in Pfeiffer’s cafeteria. P.A.T.S. has plenty of exciting events scheduled for the 2013-2014 school year. Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend and get involved.
I am excited to invite all Pfeiffer 6th graders to become members of the band. In the coming weeks, all Pfeiffer 6th graders will have the opportunity to try all of the beginning band instruments including Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Percussion. No prior music experience is necessary and everyone is welcome to join.
