The true meaning of “a sea of faces” is an apt description of the delightful setting made by some 200 sixth-grade Pfeiffer Intermediate School students as they filled the school’s auditorium stage to open the annual Perry Senior Christmas luncheon Wednesday.
While 220 senior residents looked on, the 11 yeaer-old vocalists sang the most upbeat modern holiday songs in today’s repertoire. The youngsters, in dark pants and black T-shirts with “Pfeiffer” spelled in white, had the audience toe-tapping and smiling with approval. Additional kudos to the Pfeiffer music deparment’s talented directors, Miss Ashley Lockhart and Mrs. Linda Davis.

On behalf of the entire Perry Schools’ family, we join the rest of our nation in expressing sadness and shock at the horrific events at Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.
In light of this situation, we want to offer you reassurance that Perry Local Schools remains diligent in maintaining the safety of our students and staff. Schools are one of the safest places for children and youth during the school day, and an important place for them to receive support and return to normalcy. Communication and collaboration among schools, parents, and communities is critical to ensure that our students continue to view schools as safe, caring, and supportive environments. Further, how adults react to this tragedy can shape the way children and youth react. (more…)
Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills kids learn, it is the one you can influence the most.
We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives.
Reading is vital to every child’s success, and it’s the door opener to the 21st century for all children. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct involvement in his/her child’s education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair. Hope to see you there!
