Latest News for Pfeiffer Intermediate
Pfeiffer Intermediate is participating in the Akron Children’s Hospital fundraiser, CHANGE BANDITS. Our school’s goal is to raise $800 for the hospital’s “HAVE A HEART, DO YOUR PART” campaign.
We will be collecting change during homeroom and lunch MONDAY, TUESDAY, and WEDNESDAY, January 23-25. So gather up your loose change and help us meet our goal.
We would like to welcome four new staff members to Pfeiffer, who started with us on Jan. 3rd. Mr. Steve Pritchett has replaced Mr. Andrew Richardson as our Community 6.4 language arts and social studies teacher. Mr. Pritchett was working as an ISG tutor at Pfeiffer before assuming his new role, and we wish Mr. Richardson luck as he begins a new job with the University of Akron. Mr. Ryan Whited will replace Mr. Pritchett as an ISG tutor. Mr. Whited is finishing his Masters degree in special education and recently finished his student teaching at Edison Middle School. Ms. Rose Mickley is filling in as our 6th grade counselor for Mrs. Pittman, who had a beautiful baby boy over Christmas break. Ms. Mickley brings over 30 years of counseling experience and is enjoying getting back to working with students. Finally, Mr. Benny Griffiths will be working as our assistant principal for the remainder of this year. Mr. Griffiths comes to us from Northwood Elementary School in the North Canton City School system after 30 years of leadership. All of our new staff members are wonderful people to work with and truly enjoy working with the children at Pfeiffer.

This year we are again having two events to help bring up the excitement.
The first event is that for every two (2) food items or $2.00 that a student brings to your class in the morning—your Community will receive a turkey to hang on your door or in the hallways of your community (it’s your choice). The Community with the most turkeys will win a Pizza Party.
(Top Community for 5th grade & top Community for 6th grade)
The second event is the 4th annual Pfeiffer Turkey Trot. Every student who brings in two (2) food items or $2.00 will be able to participate in this annual event here at Pfeiffer. Those who bring in two (2) food items or $2.00 have the option of participating in a Run Race or a Walk. If the student does not want to participate at all they are still more than welcome to come to the track to watch & cheer on their friends from the stands. The students who do not bring in any food item or money will not be allowed to go to the Turkey Trot — they will stay here at Pfeiffer.
The Top 3 boy & girl finishers in the Run race will receive a T-shirt.
If weather does not permit us to complete the Turkey Trot, then the Turkey Trot will be postponed for another date. As long as it’s not raining, we will have the Turkey Trot — so dress appropriately!
