Latest News for Pfeiffer Intermediate

If you or any authorized person is picking your student up early from school, you MUST present a drivers license for identification purposes.  This is for the safety of all of our students.
Also, a reminder to parents that if they have not sent in fees for their child, they need to do so ASAP.

Perry Local Schools will no longer be printing interim reports during the course of the school year.  Parent Internet Viewer, PIV, provides the opportunity for parents to view grades on a daily basis.  This constant communication will aid parents in more frequent feedback for their child.  If you are unable to access the PIV system with your personal password, please contact the school office for program troubleshooting or other options.

Pfeiffer’s New Principal

Dear Parent / Guardian,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the students and families of Pfeiffer Intermediate School.  My name is Chad Merritt and I will be the principal of Pfeiffer Intermediate School from this point forward.  I have worked for Perry Local as an assistant principal at Perry High School for the last four years.  Before coming to Perry I worked as a science teacher and science coach for ten years in the Plain Local Schools.  My main areas of expertise are in curriculum and assessment, and I am excited to bring my experiences and background to Pfeiffer.  The staff and students have been wonderful during this transition.  We are fortunate to have such a great group of staff and students at Pfeiffer! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at school or stop by to set up an appointment.  I’m very excited to be a part of the Pfeiffer family!

6th Grade Choir Sings the National Anthem

Today is the National Celebration of our National Anthem. Schools across the country are celebrating this song with singing and history lessons on the writing of the National Anthem. The 6th grade choir has recorded the National Anthem as a tribute to this celebration. Please join in singing along as the 6th grade choir leads us in the National Anthem.

On Tuesday, September 6th, and Thursday, September 8th, Pfeiffer Intermediate School will host parent meetings for beginning band at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. These meetings are designed to register 6th grade students for band, allow parents to meet the directors, as well as learn how to rent or purchase an instrument from two area music companies. We hope to see all of our 6th grade parents there!  If there are any questions, please contact Greg Wright at

The Perry Running Club is up and running.  So far we have had record breaking numbers averaging over 35 runners on the days we meet which is every Monday & Thursday.  The students are having a great time.  If you haven’t checked out the Running Club you should; you are missing out on lots of fun and excitement.

This past Tuesday, August 30th  the Perry Running Club had their first 1 mile race against North Canton’s running club. Everyone did an outstanding job and had a great time.

Perry’s running club had both the girls & boys individual winners of the race. Rebekah Brown won the girls race with a time of 6:35 and Jacob Cronk was the boys winner with a time of 6:33.

Congratulations not only to them but to all of the runners who participated. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
