PHS Graduations, End of Year Events Update

In light of recent guidance and directives provided by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) the District has finalized alternative plans to celebrate the Class of 2020 and all other year-end activities. This guidance dictates that commencements cannot take place in the traditional manner and thus we will be holding a virtual commencement ceremony. In addition we have created an assortment of memorable alternatives that will recognize our graduating class. We share in the disappointment with everyone that these activities need to be handled in an alternative manner yet this adjustment further supports our top priority of ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and community. Throughout the month of May, Perry Local Schools will be holding our 2020 Senior Salute with an assortment of activities. We encourage everyone to continue to look for updates and special messages through our social media outlets (http://perrylocal.org/phs/ and https://www.facebook.com/Perryhighschool). Band Fundraiser Pick up and Information

Dear Band Students and Parents: In February, many of you ordered Butterbraid products to support the Perry Band program.  With social distancing in place, it has been difficult for us to arrange product delivery.  On behalf of the Perry Bands, I apologize for this delay.  We now have a pick up date scheduled for May 15th, from 3PM-6PM near the PHS Wellness Center entrance.  If you ordered Butterbraid products, this will be the only opportunity to pick them up.  Unfortunately, we can’t store the items for you if you are unavailable on this date,  so please arrange for someone else to pick up your order if you are unavailable.  We have limited access to school buildings and this is the very best we can do.  We ask that you stay in your vehicle until one of our volunteers assists you.  Please avoid the main entrance to PHS (near the front steps) as we will be conducting our Uniform/Equipment return for HS Band members during this time. All orders can be picked up in the parking lot near the PHS Swimming Pool/Wellness Center Entrance.  Again, this will take place on May 15th, from 3PM-6PM.  Thank you for your continued support and I hope each one of you is doing well. – Ryan Smith

Pippin Refund Information

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have officially cancelled our live production of Pippin. We hope to do something special over the summer months, so keep your eyes peeled for that announcement. In the meantime, anyone who would like a refund and paid for tickets with check or cash must fill out the form at the link below. If you would like to donate your ticket money to our theatre program, please access the same form and choose the donation option.
We hope that everyone remains safe and healthy, and we look forward to bringing you more theatre from our amazing young people! Be well!

Spring Events Announcement and Information

Dear Perry High School Families and Guardians,
The recent guidance provided by Governor DeWine in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Education (Graduation Ceremony Statement) regarding commencement and other year-end activities has required us to make some difficult decisions regarding Spring events.  As the district adheres to the recommendations of the Governor and the Ohio Department of Education, we share in the disappointment with everyone that these activities will be cancelled or adjusted. Moving through these challenging times, our top priority has always been to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and community. We have received the input of the school district, staff and stakeholders in making these decisions based upon the Governor’s and the Ohio Department of Education’s guidance.

As a result of this input, the remainder of our Spring events will either be cancelled or held remotely in the following ways:
Prom will be cancelled with no rescheduling of the event
Commencement will be designed as a Virtual Commencement to be held on the original date/time of Sunday, May 24th @ 2:00 PM.  Specific details will be provided by Perry HS administration regarding cap/gown distribution, receiving of diplomas and other activities to recognize and celebrate the Class of 2020 in the coming days.
Scholarship Night will be designed in a remote format on the original date/time of Tuesday, May 19th @ 7:00 PM.  Specific details for those receiving this recognition will be sent by the Perry HS Counseling Department in the coming days.
Award Ceremonies and Other Events will be designed in a remote format with specific details communicated by the advisor of each organization.
National Honor Society & National Career Technical Honor Society Induction will be held in a remote format on Thursday, May 7th @ 7:00 PM.  Specific details will be sent to inductees and families by the advisor of NHS in the coming days.

We empathize with everyone that we will not be able to celebrate with our students in-person and bring our families or community together for these monumental events yet feel as though this is the best way, in accordance with all the guidelines provided, to acknowledge the Class of 2020 and all our students.  We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience with all of these difficult decisions.  As new information becomes available, we will continue to provide regular updates on these events as details
