Thank you so much for your patience and understanding tonight (11-26-13). With the amount of time put in by our students, and the money spent on tickets, we did not want to cancel this unless we had to. Unfortunately, the weather turned really bad around 5PM and student safety is our first priority. We’d like to send a special thank you to the parents and students who helped us pack up all of our equipment in the snow following the cancellation! (more…)
This year’s food drive was a tremendous success. 35 families supplied with a complete Thanksgiving dinner and then some. 8 Food shelters/banks supplied with 15-20 boxes of food. Perry Helping Perry‘s shelves restocked for the holiday season. Over 12,000 food items collected from the students, staff, and the community. Thank you Perry for your generosity and Happy Thanksgiving!

On Tuesday, November 12th, the Broadcast Journalism students went to WKYC for a tour. Our tour guide? PHS Class of 2007 Brooke Mayhew. Brooke was one of the first students to take the Broadcast Journalism class taught by Kathy Patron and Keith Brown. After attending Malone College, Brooke had aspirations of being an “on-air talent.” Shortly after graduation she had an internship with WKYC and was able to see all of the jobs of the TV station. She decided that she enjoyed producing and directing even more than being “talent.” Brooke is now a production assistant and occasional director for the news and sports. She has been with WKYC for two years. Students were able to see the studio sets, equipment, talk with people, see the control room, play on the “green screen” and watch “Live on Lakeside” as the studio audience. The trip was an incredible experience thanks to a PHS Alum!
