Girls CC takes 4th at Stow Invite

The girls cross country team ran away with a fourth place finish at the Stow Invitational this weekend.  Strong from the start, the pack of runners including Jackie Genetin, Sydnee Fenn, Taylor Wilson, Hailey Floom and Becca Backus, ran a break through, team race.  Carlie Perretta and Kylie Church rounded out the varsity team by closely following the pack of five.  The JV squad also took home a 4th place finish on Saturday.  Summer Gillard placed 7th and was closely followed be Kelsey Cobb, Meredith Mann and Erica Curtin.  Sara Keane completed the top five in scoring.  Well done to all of the girls for their strong, team focused races on Saturday.  Next up is the Federal League Championship at North Canton on Saturday.

PHS Open House – Friday, October 7, 5-7pm

Principal Don Gregoire invites the public to Perry High School from 5-7pm on Friday, October 7th for an open house.  The open house is to view the new cafeteria, freshmen wing, art rooms, guidance offices and renovated classrooms.  The high school underwent major renovations beginning in 2010 in preparation for the arrival of the freshmen class.  Perry Local Schools was able to pay for the renovations through permanent improvement funds saved over the last 6-7 years.  These renovations were done with NO NEW TAXES!

Rob Mizicko Named Health Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Rob Mizicko for being selected as the 2011 Health Education Teacher of the Year by the Ohio Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Rob will receive his award on December 1, 2011 at the OAHPERD Convention in Columbus. Way to go Rob! You make Perry proud.

Speech and Debate Fundraiser, October 10

The Speech and Debate Team is sponsoring a fundraiser at Schnabs on Monday, October 10th. Please join us and enjoy some great food plus you will be supporting the Speech Team. The event is all day, and no special flyers or tickets are needed to guarantee that the team will receive the profit.
