Perry High School has been chosen to host a teaching assistant from Japan for the 2016-2017 school year.  We are one of only ten schools in the country awarded this opportunity. The young lady coming to Perry is a graduate of Tokyo University and will co-teach Japanese at the high school with Deana Kramer.  Our teaching assistant will be in Perry for up to two years learning to teach a foreign language and helping the Japanese classes.  We also plan to get her involved in the community and other schools in the district and help build connections between Perry and Japan. PHS Helps Teen Court Celebrate 20 Years

Recently Stark County Teen Court celebrated their 20th Anniversary with Perry students recognized as being some of the best in the county to participate.

Teen Court is a program that keeps eligible low-level offenders from entering the normal Juvenil Court system. Teens who admit their wrong-doing are entered into Teen Court to be placed in front of their peers.
Area high school volunteers serve as jurors, bailiffs, prosecutors and public defenders to help in “restorative justice” and to gain valuable experience in the judiciary system.

Genoa Students Travel The World With Passports

IMG_3522PHS Students Learn International members and volunteers set up stations from around the world that highlighted educational issues faced by girls and boys in that region as well as cultural items to try (spices, music, food, etc.) at Genoa for Grandparents’ Day. Students received a passport and got stickers as they went from station to station to become more aware of the rest of the world.


Seniors have the option to have their Senior pictures taken this year by James Wood Photography on two dates to be announced.  A $25 sitting fee will be charged at the time of the appointment unless you are purchasing a senior picture package from James Wood Photography by September 1, 2016.  Information on packages is available on our website and at James Wood Photography. Important Dates for Graduating Class of 2016

There are several important dates for PHS Seniors to keep in mind as the school year comes to an end. Please note the dates listed below and plan accordingly to be in attendance.

  • Cap and Gown Distribution – Thursday, May 26th @ 8:00 AM in the Athletic Lobby
  • Mandatory Graduation Practice – Friday, May 27th @ 9:30  AM  – Meet in PHS main gym. 
  • Graduation – Sunday, May 29th @ 2:00 PM at the Canton Civic Center
