The International Baccalaureate Program is an extremely rigorous college preparatory academic program leading to external exams and designed for highly motivated and achievement-oriented students. The program features and interdisciplinary liberal arts education in foreign language, science, mathematics, english, social studies, and electives. It is widely regarded as one of the most challenging high school curriculum in the world. The IB diploma recipients are exceptionally well-equipped to excel in the top colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.
Below is a link further describing the program and the course sequence that a student should be following in order to be eligible to apply to be in the International Baccalaureate program. This program is housed at Jackson High School, therefore your student will be attending Jackson High School all day his or her 11th and 12th grade year. However, they are still considered a Perry High School Student.
Each year there will be invitations sent out to prospective students that are eligible for the program. 9th and 10th grades students are invited to this meeting if eligible, and at that point applications are passed out and a presentation is given about the program.
