Attention, if you are a Dual Enrollment student and receive an invoice from either Stark State College or Kent State University, please disregard the notice. By law, the institutions are required to send these out to students. You do not owe anything, all fees are paid for by Perry Local Schools. Do note however, the money that you are saving by taking these courses at PHS!
Counselors have finished presenting college information to the Senior English classes. Go to the College Ready tab to review the catalog that was given to each student. Counselors discussed the college application process, ACT/SAT testing, high school and college transcripts, the college academic counselor meeting and financial aid/scholarships. Each senior will be meeting individually with his/her counselor to review the high school transcript and discuss future plans.
Counselors also visited the CP and Honors English 11 classes to discuss the merits of taking the PSAT in October.
In an effort to better serve the needs of students,the dates PHS will be offering the ACT have changed slightly. PHS will be offering the ACT on the following dates for the 2014-2015 school year:

Students who need to take the Compass test to become eligible to enroll in Dual Enrollment classes need to call the Stark State Testing Center to make an appointment. Please call 330-494-6170 to make arrangements.
Each area of the Compass Exam (reading, writing and math) may only be taken a total of two times a school year. If the student takes the test twice in an area in one school year, the student MAY NOT take the test again until the following school year. The student will need to take the ACT or SAT test to meet eligibility requirements.
Students taking the Compass must have all completed enrollment forms (STIRS, Fall and Spring Enrollment forms) and test scores turned in to the Guidance Office no later than Thursday, April 17, 2014.
Students taking the April ACT to become eligible must have their completed forms and a copy of their ACT scores in before May 16th.
Students taking the June ACT must bring their completed forms and a copy of their ACT scores to the Guidance Office by Thursday, August 8th, 2014 at 2:00 PM in order to be scheduled into the Dual Enrollment class.
