College Credit Plus Procedure

Students who are wishing to take College Credit Plus courses AT Perry High School through Stark State or Kent State need to complete the following


Apply to Stark State College (create an account and then complete the online CCP Stark State application)


Pick up a CCP packet from the high school Guidance Office or print one out from the web page

Take the COMPASS or ACT (returning students only need new scores if required for the course wishing to be taken).

If your scores qualify (look in the back of the Course description book), attach your COMPASS or ACT scores to your TRANSCRIPT Request form (found in your packet) and turn into your Guidance Office. The counseling office will send your transcript and scores to Stark State College.

Once Stark State receives your transcript and test scores, Stark State will send you your Stark State Student ID number.

When you receive your ID number, you can complete the rest of the CCP packet (enrollment forms, Course Selection Form, and STIRS form).  Complete packet (double check and make sure it is COMPLETE.  Incomplete packets will be returned to the student)

and turn in your completed packet to your Guidance Office.  Once received, your counselor will enter your CCP course requests into your schedule request file for next year.


Students wishing to take CCP Spanish or CCP French at PHS next year

Complete the online Kent State Stark online CCP application


You must have a Foreign Language Placement test score on file (ask your teacher).  If you have not taken the test, it is offered the second Tuesday in March (March 8th) after school in the PHS Library, or call the KSU Stark testing office to make an appointment to take the test on the campus

You must have the ACT scores  (ACT English 18, Reading 19)


Complete the College Credit Plus Packet (found online and in the high school Guidance Office) and attach your ACT and Foreign Language Placement test scores to the packet and turn into your foreign language teacher.  Double check your packet to make sure it is correctly and totally completed.  All incomplete packets will be returned to you.

Your teacher will check your packet and submit to the Guidance Office.  Once the counselor receives the packet, the CCP Language course will be added to your schedule request file.

CareerQuest in December

CareerQuest is a career exploration program for students at PHS.  This will be an interactive opportunity to:

  • Discuss Career Interests
  • Take an online career inventory
  • Learn about jobs available

Date: Sunday night, December 6
Location: PHS – Cafeteria
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Cost: $3 (includes pizza, pop)
