Welcome Back!

Greetings and welcome back to our choir students and families! I’m looking forward to a fun and exciting year for our ensembles. Please click on the link below to download a copy of our handbook and calendar–and don’t forget to return the student contract and hard copy of the Emergency Medical Form that were sent home with each student. Once teachers and advisors have access to Final Forms, the hard copy of the EMF may not be necessary, but for now it’s still a re-choir-ment. ūüôā These forms are due no later Friday, August 23.

State Contest Info

Congratulations to Lyrics, Treblemakers, Kinsmen and Symphonic Choirs! These four choirs have qualified for State Contest, to be held at Jackson High School on Friday, April 21. Click on the link below for times and schedule for the evening. The choirs are leaving immediately after school and should return to PHS at approximately 9:20-9:30 p.m. Good luck to our Perry Choirs and Bands as they compete–bring back lots of Superior ratings!


Contest Information

On Friday, March 10, the PHS choirs will participate in the OMEA District Adjudicated Event held at Lake High School. This is a required event for all students. We will travel by school bus to and from Lake and all students; buses will leave PHS at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. We will return at approximately midnight. If you have a student to pick up after contest, please do not park in the circle next to the sidewalk; four buses will need to drop off students in front of the high school and you will be blocked in.

Performance times: Bel Canto–4:35; Treblemakers–5:55; Lyrics–7:35; Symphonic–8:55, Kinsmen–10:15.

Merry Grinch-mas comes to PHS!

Our annual holiday-themed¬†concert–this year titled “Merry Grinch-mas“–is quickly approaching.¬† On Monday, December 19 and Tuesday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m., join us for an evening of seasonal music featuring our six choirs, a live pit orchestra, PHS Rockettes, elves, Whos from Who-ville,¬†How the Grinch Stole Christmas¬†read by Louie Mattachione, and even a special guest or two.¬† Children are our guests on this trip to Who-ville and they’re welcome to come dressed in their pajamas or Grinch-themed apparel; after the¬†concert, we invite all our guests to join us in the cafeteria for a feast of roast beast (aka cookies)!¬† It’s a fun evening that’s becoming a Perry tradition–so don’t miss out!
There are plenty of tickets available for both nights–I’ve just started accepting orders! I’ve attached an order form, or they’re available at the PHS front desk or in the main office.¬† You are also welcome to send an order via interdepartmental mail.¬† Just tell me how many tickets you need and for which night and include $6 per ticket with checks made out to Perry Vocal Music.¬† Also include a phone number or email address where you can be reached in case I have questions about seating.

Fall Concert

Our fall concert is just a week away! Get your tickets now for an evening of music featuring all our choirs, Kinsmen wearing tights, a new Pipers show and a very special Treblemakers alumni performance. You may download the order form and leave your paid order in¬†Mrs. Polen’s mailbox in the main office, or send it to school with your student. See you on October 25th at 7:00!
