Approximately 81 of Perry’s Choir members will travel to Orlando in December to sing as part of Disney’s Candlelight Processional at Epcot. The Candlelight Processional is an annual re-telling of the Christmas story performed by a celebrity narrator and accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra, Disney’s Voices of Liberty and a mass choir. In addition to an audition early in the school year, students are required to learn 14 songs, attend rehearsals backstage at Epcot and then sing for at least one performance. Perry has been selected to sing at both the 6:45 and 8:15 concerts on Monday, December 21. Stay tuned for more details–this will be a performance to remember!
This year’s freshman Bel Canto members will sport new apparel! After ten years, our dress was discontinued. A flattering style in a stretchy fabric that will allow students more ease of movement for breathing has been chosen. It’s also slightly less expensive than our old dresses–just $51 each. Dresses have been ordered and must be paid in full before students will be permitted to take them home. Checks may be made payable to Perry Vocal Music. Check out new look below!
Welcome back to another year of vocal music excellence at PHS! I hope you’re ready to begin a busy year of concerts, contest, community performances and (for sophomores, juniors and seniors) an exciting performance at EPCOT at Disney World! Refer to this website throughout the year to get updates and to stay ahead of the many events and fundraisers we have planned. And remember you can follow phsvocalmusic on Twitter, too! Again–welcome back!
It’s time to register for our Disney trip! Sophomores, juniors and seniors who are members of Lyrics or Symphonic Choirs are eligible for our performance trip to Orlando, Florida in December. While at Disney’s EPCOT, our singers will perform at the annual Candlelight Processional with Disney’s professional Voices of Liberty, a full orchestra and celebrity narrator. This is a fantastic opportunity, so don’t miss your chance! Attached is the tentative itinerary for our trip and a registration form. Please note that the registration must be filled out and mailed to the tour company with a non-refundable $100 deposit. After the initial payment is made, our tour company will contact you to confirm payment and set up future payments. Please print or write legibly!
If you have any questions, you may email me at email@example.com. During the summer, I only check that email once every two weeks, so please know that I will get back to you, but a response may be delayed a few days.
