Girls Beat GlenOak 80-57, Boys Lose 42-95

The Boys and Girls track teams hosted a dual meet against GlenOak yesterday. The boys fell a little short of the victory in a hard-fought battle 42-95. Winning for the boys were:

Lucas Kelley – Pole Vault
Ben Kintz – Shot Put
Johnny Stevenson – 1600m Run
Cole Morris – 3200m Run
Chris Marx – Wheelchair 100, 400 and 800
Also scoring for the boys were:

Max Baker, Matt Carrick, Keishaun Sims, James Roth, Tevion Cleveland, Jaret Martin and Jason Lacourt.

The girls team defeated the Golden Eagles 80-57. It was a tremendous team effort in bringing home the victory. Winning events for the girls were:

Becca Brown – Pole Vault
Mackenzie Corrin – shot put and discus
Josey Lacourt – high jump, 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relay
Annalise Presutti – 100 hurdles
Laila Strickland – 100m, 4 by 100 and 4 by 200 relay
Bekah Carr – 400, 4 by 100, 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 relay
Peyton Clarke – 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 relay
Leslie Bast – 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 relay
Taylor Anthony – 4 by 100 relay
Maddie Bartolone – 3200m Run

Also scoring for the girls were: Alexa Carpenter, Morgan Fisher, and Nadia Pryor

The boys and girls next home meet is next Tuesday against Lake.

Both Teams Defeat Hoover

The boys and girls track teams traveled to North Canton last night to face the Vikings. Both teams left Hoover victorious with tremendous efforts by all competitors. Winning events for the boys were:

James Roth – 100m and 400m dash
Keishaun Sims – High jump and 200m dash
Ben Kintz – shot put and discus
Lucas Kelley – pole vault
Johnny Stevenson – 1600m run
Cole Morris – 3200m run
Tevion Cleveland – 300m Hurdles
The 4 by 100 relay team of Tevion Cleveland, James Roth, Max Baker and Keishaun Sims was also victorious.

Also scoring for the boys: Jaret Martin, Keith Storsin, Frank Sciury, Jake Meeks, Scott Essig, Daniel Cronk, Evan Kimble, Dom Labriola and Matt Carrick.

Girls Win Salem Invitational, Boys Finish 2nd Overall

The boys and girls track teams traveled to Salem Friday night for the Salem Invitational. The boys team finished second overall. Top 3 finishers for the panthers were:

The girls team was Champions of the Salem Invitational. Bekah Carr and Mackenzie Corrin each were champions in the 400m Dash and Discus, respectively. Other top 3 finishers were:

Girls Beat Jackson 78-59, Boys Lost 63-74

The Boys and Girls track teams faced Jackson yesterday for the first outdoor meet of the season. The Boys team fell a little short to Jackson by a score of 74 to 63. Winning events for the boys were:

4X100 Relay team of Tevion Cleveland, Lucas Kelley, Max Baker and Keishaun Sims

The girls team defeated Jackson by a score of 78 to 59. It was a total team effort to knock off the polar bears. Winning events for the girls were:

Lucas Kelley and Macee Erickson Compete at Indoor Nationals

Lucas Kelley and Macee Erickson competed this past weekend in the pole vault at the New Balance Indoor High School National Championships held at the Armory in New York City.  Macee cleared 12 feet to finish 10th in a very talented field of vaulters.  Macee concludes her junior indoor season as the best female vaulter to ever walk the halls of Perry High School.  Lucas Kelley soared to new heights with a new school record vault of 16’9.25″ in earning a 3rd place finish at the national meet.  Lucas’s jump was only 4 inches behind the National Champion mark of 17 feet 1 inch.  Congratulations to Macee and Lucas on a phenomenal indoor track and field season.
