New Additions to Perry Track Coaching Staff

Perry Track & Field welcomes two new coaches this year.  We are very lucky to have been able to secure J.P. Sexton as a teacher and coach here at Perry.  J.P. is a graduate of McKinley High School and Walsh University.  While at McKinley he was a state qualifier and was named McKinley’s Most Outstanding Athlete in his graduating class.  JP then went on to compete collegiately at Walsh where he was a national qualifier several times and competed in the Decathlon (so he comes to us with experience in pretty much all the events)   After his days as an athlete, JP moved into the coaching ranks at Walsh where he worked with the jumpers and sprinters.  Before coming to Perry this year, J.P. taught Math at GlenOak.

We also will be bringing on 2007 Perry Grad Tyler Griffin to our Middle School  Staff.  Tyler was a state qualifier and All-Ohioan while in high school and then went on to win a National Title in the 1500m in 2009 at the NCAA D3 National Meet for Mount Union.  Tyler also coached middle school cross country here in the fall.
