We had another great middle school relay meet to honor former Perry Track Coach Matt McLeese. It was a great night to compete with great efforts by all. Congrats to our Perry Boys in winning the boys meet and the Jackson Girls winning the girls meet.
The Boys Track team finished 3rd out of 14 schools Friday night at the Salem Cope Invitational. The team had a pair of wins which started off with Devin Halter and Jacob Cronk finishing 1st and 2nd overall in the 3200 meter run in the first running final. The 4×400 meter relay team of John Backus, Brandon Williams, Jamil Mills, and Izzy Morales won to close out the meet in the final event of the night. Others who scored for the Panthers were: Jojo Lapanja, Luke Laubacher, Everett Ewing, Owen Tanzilli, Devonte Armstrong, Jaice Hill, and Kevin Echelberry.
Both the boys and girls track teams will be in action Tuesday at Jackson for their first dual meet of the season.
The girls finished 2nd overall at the Walsh Jesuit John Hasenstab Warrior Relays on Saturday. The team had a lot of great performances and won all 5 field event relays. Leading the way in winning were: Shot Put (Mackenzie Corrin, Megan Fry, Lauren Alexander), Discus (Corrin, Fry, Addison Disman), Long Jump (Morgan Fisher, Alexis Gozdan, Meghan Carpenter), High Jump (Balie Destefano, Fisher, Paige Archinal), Pole Vault (Peyton Clarke, Kayla McAdams, Jordan, Kovalchin), and the 4×800 team (Elaine Bast, Madelyn Bartolone, Laura Genetin, Andrea Hufstetler).
Others who scored for the girls: Annalise Presutti, Taylor Anthony, Taylor Define, Camryn Putman, Hanna Runyon, Hannah Groff, Katie Williams, and Emily Rodriguez.
The boys finished 13th overall at Walsh Jesuit. Scoring for the boys were: Eliott Kamerer, Joey Fedor, Devin Halter, Jacob Cronk, John Backus, Everett Ewing, Nick Forchione, Dominick Bowman, Josh Lupi, Jojo Lapanja, Brandon Williams, Dillon Geir, Dominic Bartolone, Jason Williams, Robby Kirchner, Adam Luster, Sir Elliott, Noah Princehorn, Max Baker, Jamil Mills, Jack Nelligan, and Devonte Armstrong.
The teams will host GlenOak on Tuesday.
The girls track team won at home last night against Jackson 92-45. The team had individual wins from Peyton Clarke (pole vault & 800m), Mackenzie Corrin (shot put & discus), Taylor Anthony (100m dash & 200m), Morgan Fisher (long jump), Annalise Presutti (100m hurdles), Madelyn Bartolone (1600m), Elaine Bast (400m), and Alexis Gozdan (300m hurdles). The team also won the 4×800 (Laura Genetin, Bast, Hannah Groff, Andrea Hufstetler), 4×100 (Fisher, Clarke, Paige Archinal, Anthony), and the 4×400 (Bast, Groff, Genetin, Gozdan)

The boys lost to Jackson 112-25. Max Baker won both the pole vault and the long jump. The 4×200 team of Dominick Bowman, Josh Lupi, Brandon Williams, and Sha’vea Lightner also won. Others who scored for the boys were: Joey Fedor, John Backus, and Eliott Kamerer.
The teams will race this weekend at the Walsh Jesuit John Hasenstab Warrior Relays.
The girls track team was back in action finally after numerous cancellations and traveled to Hoover Tuesday night. The team won 81-56. The team had individual wins from Mackenzie Corrin (shot & disc), Morgan Fisher (high jump & long jump), Peyton Clarke (pole vault), Annalise Presutti (100m hurdles), Andrea Hufstetler (1600m), Alexis Gozdan (300m hurdles), and Laura Genetin (800m). The team also had relay wins from the 4×800 (Genetin, Madelyn Bartolone, Hannah Groff, Reilly Kreger), 4×100 (Fisher, Clarke, Paige Archinal, Taylor Anthony), and 4×400 (Elaine Bast, Groff, Gozdan, Genetin).

The boys lost a hard fought meet 76-61 that came down to the last 2 events on the track. They had individual wins from Max Baker (pole vault & long jump), Luke Laubacher (110m hurdles), and Josh Lupi (400m & 200m). The boys also won the 4×200 (Dominick Bowman, Lupi, Brandon Williams, Sha’vea Lightner) and 4×100 relays (Bowman, Williams, Baker, Lightner).
