To ensure the safety of our students and staff, Perry Local Schools will be implementing a new building visitor policy. Effective Monday, October 14th, visitors entering a Perry Local School building must submit a state/federal photo ID to the designated school building employee. Visitors must also sign in and out when entering and exiting a district building. The photo identification will be returned when the visitor signs out to exit the building. Thank you in advance for supporting this security change in order to better protect our students and staff.
Congratulations to Laila Seery for being picked as Student of the Month for September! Laila had her named pulled after earning numerous tickets for being Ready to Learn while at school. Laila is currently a third grader in Mrs. Meeks room.
In addition to being a positive role model for others at school, Laila has many interests outside of school. Laila collects Barbie’s and enjoys swimming, going to garage sales and watching movies. Her favorite subject at school is Art and her favorite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. When Laila grows up she wants to become a dentist.
Perry Local Schools are proud to announce that Watson Elementary School has recently been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ academic achievement. Watson Elementary was the only Stark County school recognized, and was one of only fifteen Blue Ribbon Schools in the state.
