On January 24th, 2015 the Perry High School Cheerleaders will be holding a cheer clinic for kindergartners through 6th grade. The clinic will be held at Pfeiffer Intermediate School from 10am-3pm. Each participant will learn one dance, five chants and one cheer. Click here to download the flyer with all of the information and registration.
Perry Local Schools will be closed, Monday, January 12, 2015, due to inclement weather. Parents/Guardians and students involved in PHS extracurricular activities should check district websites and media outlets for the status of extracurricular events on days when schools are closed. All extracurricular activities (practices, games, and after school activities) for Perry’s elementary buildings, Pfeiffer Intermediate School, and Edison Middle School are cancelled for the day when Perry Local Schools are closed. YCare is closed when Perry Local Schools close for the day. Childcare through the YMCA is offered at the Massillon YMCA, Meyers Lake YMCA, and the Navarre Towpath YMCA when schools are closed.
Watson students and staff would like to wish Mr. Rocky Simler, school custodian, the best as he enters retirement. Mr. Simler has served Perry for last 16 years. Rocky is looking forward to relaxing and spending time with his seven grandchildren in retirement. He would like to thank everyone he has worked with over the years for such an enjoyable experience.
The District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, March 19th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). Dr. Cathy Hamilton will present on high expectations, employment and student success. Parents and educators are encouraged to attend the very informative presentation. The District 9 State Support Team will be holding a presentation on Thursday, January 15th from 6 – 8 PM at R.G. Drage Career Center (map). The topic will be Employability: What does it take to get a job? Information will be provided for both parents and educators. An outline of necessary skills students need when pursuing employment will also be provided. Congratulations to Sarah Martin for being picked as Student of the Month for November! Sarah had her named pulled after earning numerous tickets for being Ready to Learn while at school. Sarah is currently a first grader in Mrs. Libster’s room.
In addition to being Ready to Learn while at school, Sarah enjoys collecting shiny rocks that she finds as a hobby. Sarah also likes playing soccer with her friends. Sarah’s favorite class at school is gym and her favorite game to play is Hide-N-Seek. Sarah’s favorite food is Mac-N-Cheese and when (more…)
