D.A.R.E. will sponsor a skate party on Friday, November 15th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the North Canton Skate Center. The cost to participate is $5.75 which includes skate/roller blade rental. Speed skates are $1.50 extra. *New activities are laser tag, rock-wall, bumper cars, euro bungee, and 30 new video games. *Pricing for additional activities is $5.75 per activity or $20.00 for an unlimited bracelet.
The Book Fair is no longer open in Watson, but you can continue to shop online through November 8th. All books purchased online will be shipped to Watson School with no charge and then distributed to the student. Remember the Book Fair is a cool place to discover hot books! Watson staff and students kicked off Book Fair Week by dressing up as their favorite book characters! Family Night at the book fair is Monday, October 28th from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. The Perry Gymnastics team wold love for you to joins us on Saturday, November 16th for a fun filled morning of gymnastics. Each child will have time to try all four events (floor, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault) and receive instruction on basic skills from Perry gymnasts. Cost of the clinic is $35 and is open to any girl in kindergarten through sixth grade. CLICK HERE for more information and a registration form.
To ensure the safety of our students and staff, Perry Local Schools will be implementing a new building visitor policy. Effective Monday, October 14th, visitors entering a Perry Local School building must submit a state/federal photo ID to the designated school building employee. Visitors must also sign in and out when entering and exiting a district building. The photo identification will be returned when the visitor signs out to exit the building. Thank you in advance for supporting this security change in order to better protect our students and staff.
Congratulations to Laila Seery for being picked as Student of the Month for September! Laila had her named pulled after earning numerous tickets for being Ready to Learn while at school. Laila is currently a third grader in Mrs. Meeks room.
In addition to being a positive role model for others at school, Laila has many interests outside of school. Laila collects Barbie’s and enjoys swimming, going to garage sales and watching movies. Her favorite subject at school is Art and her favorite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. When Laila grows up she wants to become a dentist.
Perry Local Schools are proud to announce that Watson Elementary School has recently been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ academic achievement. Watson Elementary was the only Stark County school recognized, and was one of only fifteen Blue Ribbon Schools in the state. Congratulations to Watson Elementary’s staff, parents, and students for making Perry proud!
