Watson Elementary Named Blue Ribbon School

blueRibbonLogoSmallPerry Local Schools are proud to announce that Watson Elementary School has recently been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ academic achievement. Watson Elementary was the only Stark County school recognized, and was one of only fifteen Blue Ribbon Schools in the state. Congratulations to Watson Elementary’s staff, parents, and students for making Perry proud!

Watson Fall Fundraiser

schoolfundraiserLast Thursday afternoon students at Watson Elementary kicked off  an important fundraising drive sponsored by U.N.I.T.E, our parent/teacher support group. Money raised will help support projects and activities for all Watson students throughout the school year.  We are hopeful that parents and students will give Watson the necessary support to make it an overwhelming success. Perry Youth Basketball Registration

PERRY BBALL2Perry Youth Basketball will hold registration for the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Parents/Guardians of boys in grades 3-6 can register their child on Sunday, September 22 or Sunday, September 29 from 3:00p – 7:00p at the Perry Township Hall (map).  More information can be found by visiting

YMCA to Offer Child Care for Watson Students

Perry Local Schools, in partnership with the YMCA of Western Stark County, will be offering before and after school child care for Watson Elementary students beginning in the 2013-2014 school year. Parents of students who participate will need to make arrangements to drop students off each morning at Genoa Elementary. Students will be bused to Watson to start the school day. Watson students participating in the after school program will be bused to Genoa. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick students up at Genoa Elementary. Registration and information can be found by linking to the YMCA of Western Stark County.
